Three words: value for money. Bare in mind that this is not a hotel - it is a hostel. A clean and good but also unusual hostel because it is in fact an old villa that they have turned into a hostel which gives it a very homely feeling and it's lovely to hang out on the couches in the two living rooms. The rooms have 2-4 beds either twin beds or bunk beds and they all have AC. It was not built yesterday so there are signs of wear and tear but nothing that bothered me the least. Especially compared to the price. I took an A/C minivan from the airport to Colombo city, (about 45mins, 150LKR) stops at Pettah Floating Market, from there, walk about 5 to 7 mins to Colombo Fort Train station, take bus no. 100 (very frequent from the train station) for 20LKR to stop at Mahanama bus stop (tell the conductor). From bus stop, walk in the direction of the bus, pass by Subway restaurant, and look for 5th Lane. Once you see 5th Lane road sign, Lilac by Seclusion is 2mins walk from the main road, keep walking to look for no.26.
There's Coffee Bean at the other end of 5th lane, a Mcdonald's opposite Coffee Bean. At bus stop next to McDonald's, take Bus no.100 to go to Galle face Green or to go to back to Colombo Fort...
