My first visit to Bellagio was entertaining. Let me detail why - it is far less formal than other casinos I have seen in Goa, Macau, Sands Singapore and US. There is an air of friendliness. I have always noticed that staff in casinos is very uninspired, tired by the air of people betting themselves to death. That's the notice case with staff at Bellagio. They smile at you once in a while. Food and drinks of select brands are on the house. On the gaming action per se, the most popular game is bacarrat followed by three card poker and roulette. I was disappointed that on a Saturday night there was only one Texas holdem table going on. Before I forget, entry is free and if you are a member, they would arrange pickup and drop from your hotel. Dreadful experience. My friend was almost denied entry because she is born in Sri Lanka. Apparently they don’t allow locals inside, unless they are members of the casino. While tourists are fine.

After this the staff wouldn’t stop staring at us for the one hour we were there.

We asked to buy drinks and at first the different staff members that were serving us (many and constantly new persons) looked mildly uncomfortable, but went to get the drinks. Only they never came back.

At the end they sent the youngest staff member to tell us that you can’t buy drinks (with alcohol) unless you bet a certain amount first.
