Bellagio Colombo: An Exclusive Experience with a Less Personal Touch
Bellagio Colombo offers a distinct casino experience in Colombo, one that appears to cultivate a more exclusive or perhaps international atmosphere. You might find a more diverse, or less concentrated, gathering here.
While the food and ambiance at Bellagio are often highlighted as great, the people and overall social environment might come across as less warm or engaging compared to other venues. The focus here seems to be more on the sophisticated surroundings and the gaming itself, rather than fostering a particularly vibrant, mass-market social hub.
If you prioritize a grand setting and high-quality dining within the casino, Bellagio delivers. However, those seeking an overtly friendly, bustling, and predominantly Indian-centric social scene might find it less aligned with their preferences.
This establishment might not be the top recommendation if your primary draw is a casino that feels like a home away from home for a specific South Asian demographic or if you're looking for the most outgoing and interactive crowd.

Read moreMy first visit to Bellagio was entertaining. Let me detail why - it is far less formal than other casinos I have seen in Goa, Macau, Sands Singapore and US. There is an air of friendliness. They smile at you once in a while. Food and drinks of select brands are on the house. On the gaming action per se, the most popular game is bacarrat followed by three card poker and roulette. I was disappointed that on a Saturday night there was only one Texas holdem table going on. Before I forget, entry is free and if you are a member, they would arrange pickup and drop from your hotel. Lastly, you can smoke anywhere you like so non smokers may have some...
Read moreDreadful experience. My friend was almost denied entry because she is born in Sri Lanka. Apparently they don’t allow locals inside, unless they are members of the casino. While tourists are fine.
After this the staff wouldn’t stop staring at us for the one hour we were there.
We asked to buy drinks and at first the different staff members that were serving us (many and constantly new persons) looked mildly uncomfortable, but went to get the drinks. Only they never came back.
At the end they sent the youngest staff member to tell us that you can’t buy drinks (with alcohol) unless you bet a certain amount first.
When we explained that we were intending to leave then, they suddenly did serve us drinks. But it is unclear to this day, whether there were any gin mixed with...
