I recently dined at Indian Kitchen in Kollpity, and I must say, it was a remarkable experience. It’s rare to leave an Indian restaurant feeling so satisfied yet surprisingly light, and this place certainly delivered. The freshness of the dishes, the subtle finesse in every bite, and the aromatic rice combined to make it one of the finest Indian meals I've enjoyed in quite some time. The Chicken Dum Biriyani and Mutton Dum Biriyani were particularly standout, bursting with lively spices and rich flavors. The ambiance captivated me from the moment I stepped inside, showcasing a unique street concept that enhances the dining experience. If you're seeking a memorable meal with exquisite food, Indian Kitchen is undoubtedly a place you must visit.

One of the best Indian restaurants in town. Food is delicious, made with authentic Indian spices, probably by Indiana chefs, made to orders and served hot. Portions of the two curries we ordered were not great. Ordering via QR code is convinientl, but would've been better if the payment could also be made online (when making the order). The restaurant has two main parts - one themed a highway and other inside a boat. While the designing is proper and nice, both the themes don't go with the variety of Indian food on offer. And the seating isn't comfortable and lacks space. Background music (during our stay) was also didn't match the feel and mood of the taste and aroma of the food. There's no onsite parking, so you will have to be lucky to find space along the main road. Staff were efficient but needs more training on customer service (letting the customers feel welcomed and cared). Cleanliness and orderliness are commendable. Overall it was great food served in a not so great setting/atmosphere. (2023/12/05) Downgrading the rating to three stars based our recent experience. Non of the meat items were available, except chicken, which was disappointing and lost my interest in revisiting. The waiter had no justification (e.g. unavailability due to religious reasons, etc.) rather a simple response of not available today. Something to consider if you want to retain customers.

A very busy place to be on a Sunday night. People were literally waiting outside the restaurant to be seated. I'm a fan of Indian food and special the South Indian food. Was so excited to visit the place and as soon as I went in I got my favourite Masala Chai and some onion pakodas. Was so good and was so hyped about the main dish. There is actually a lot to choose from and the if you are a fan of South Indian food then when you look at the menu all the YouTube videos you have watched on Indian food starts flashing infront of your eyes. We ordered another chicken starter and it was the bomb. And for the mains we ordered both chicken and beef Kizhi Parottas. To be honest wasn't the best, didn't have much flavour, and looked a bit overcooked to me. Maybe it was in the oven for a longer time and the parotta was more like a paste when we opened ours. A big letdown. The restaurant also has a very busy operation in a very small space, also there is a door which leads to the kitchen which keeps banging every time someone walks in and out of the kitchen. Someone needs to fix that DOOR! The two boys with the guitar and the violin were a treat. Staff were really good and attentive would have been a 5 star review if the main dishes were good.

I normally don't review if the food is bad, but this was so bad that it warranted me putting in effort to leave a review. Firstly the curries were trash both in quality and quantity, one of the butter chicken curries we ordered had about 3 small pieces only. Some of the chicken tasted spoilt! The beef biriyani we ordered had 5 day old stale beef that was so hard to bite on. The chicken 65 was basically popcorn chicken. The worst was the abomination they call a mango lassi, they probably have no idea that a lassi requires curd. If I had eaten some mangos and vomited them into water it would still have tasted better than the one they served me. Now for the few positives, ambience was excellent with some live music and the one waiter who took our order was attentive and sympathised with us by trying to replace some of it but we had already lost our appetite by then. Would not recommend.

My feelings regarding this place is so..so. The Houseboat concept was innovative. Customer service was very good. We decided to try their Bamboo Biriyani, because, Biriyani's are usually packed with flavour. Accompaniments Onion in Raita, and Dhall in Garam Masala gravy. Unfortunately, they absolutely disappointed me, because despite the masala, the Biriyani was BLAND. Felt more like eating Rice with Curry powder rather than Biriyani. Ditto for the Chicken curry. They needed more flavour and seasoning. It was definitely NOT value for money, but the capsicum bajji was worth the money spent. Moreover, they did provide live music via 2 guitar players to stimulate our appetite. However, instead of singing Indian songs (Hindi, Panjabi, Tamil songs etc) they sang Sinhala songs - Totally out of place with their theme.

Indian kitchen is one of those restaurants who loves up to the truly Indian flavors.. The ambience was very refreshing.. Seating could have been a bit more comfortable but it does with the theme.. Service was decent.. Guess they were a bit unorganized may be due to this current covid restrictions. Tried chicken 65 it had the unique flavor chicken 65 of South India has.. But not the north version.. Butter chicken was easily one of the best I have eaten in SL.. Thick gravy.. Great aroma.. The Naans were also well done.. Masala Tea again was superb.. Good refreshment after a meal.. Fan of Indian food.. A great place to try.. Heard their biriyanis and parata variants are great too.. Parking may be a concern so beware..
