MENYA HANABI SRI LANKA — Restaurant in Colombo

Recently, we tried this Japanese restaurant because it was on the must-check-out list for a while, and we finally dropped by for lunch. It is situated on Level 3 at One Galle Face Mall. If you'd like to try new cuisines, here you go.We tried two main dishes from their menu. From the noodle options, we selected Mazesoba, and from the rice section, we selected Maza Bowl. Both dishes were delicious and mouthwatering. For the drinks, we selected soft drinks like Coca-Cola and Sprite.They are providing free desserts, such as their hand-made chocolates, if you post a picture of your meals on social media.It is definitely a must-visit in Colombo. Prices are slightly on the high side, but not too bad. Overall, good customer service. Highly recommend 🤗❤️

Wasn't expecting much from Izakaya Makotoya but was left pleasantly surprised.

I was apprehensous at first because of the non existent atmosphere, however, One Galle Face Mall does often feel like an empty barren mall at the best of times so I don't think the "dead atmosphere" is the restaurants fault.

At the entrance you are able to flick thru the menu, which had seen betters days, and I was still unsure weather or not I would enjoy the food. One of the waiters hurried over to greet the two of us and explained what type of foods are served here. His friendly demeanor helped me decide to dine.

The service is very good. The waiters are very knowledgeable regarding the menu, they are courteous and willing to help with any questions.

The menu isn't extensive, which is a good thing. No feeling of being overwhelmed with choice. The prices are... ...what you'd expect from a mall. Too high. But I don't think you could get a decent Japanese food bowl for any less around the area.

The food is top notch. Quite filling and very flavoursome. The accompanying condiments are very much needed to elevate the flavour. The bowls are quite large and we did feel quite satiated once finished.

I would definitely come here again to try out the rest of their menu.

It's a shame that the restaurant feels like a little void of nothingness, empty and lacking of atmosphere but the food and service greatly makes...

I am surprised that there aren't many reviews for Menya Hanabi, as it is a very underrated Japanese restaurant with cozy seating arrangements and friendly staff who always have a smile on their faces (they even took the time to explain the menu). The ambiance has a welcoming and refreshing atmosphere with soothing Japanese music playing in the background.

The food has a unique taste that I've never experienced elsewhere. The flavors and portions justify the prices on their menu. My favorite dish was the cheese curry mazesoba. They offer different levels of spiciness spread across the menu, meaning that one dish could be spicier or less spicy than another.

As for dessert, it deserves a separate 5-star review. I tried their Matcha and Cheese puddings, and I urge you to order them. The luxuriously creamy and velvety texture of the pudding keeps you wanting more.
