If I could give this place 10 stars, I would. A friend of mine here in Verona mentioned a sandwich spot that she raved about specifically the Chicken Cutlet. So I decided to see for myself… and I’m telling you, from the very first bite, I was completely blown away.

The quality of this sandwich? Unreal. The flavor was perfectly balanced, the chicken cutlet cooked to golden, crispy perfection, and every ingredient tasted fresh and intentionally chosen. The size of the sandwich? Let’s just say you’re not leaving hungry. But what really impressed me is that I watched how they prepared it and it was done with care, cleanliness, and skill.

The atmosphere is clean, warm, and welcoming and the people? Top notch. Stacy, the owner, is absolutely incredible. You can tell she’s passionate about what she does, and it shows in every detail from the food to the friendliness of the staff, to how spotless the place is.

I’ve eaten sandwiches all over this state, all over this country and I’m telling you, this is one of the best sandwich spots I have ever experienced in my life. If you live in New Jersey, no matter where you are, you owe it to yourself to make the trip. You haven’t truly had a sandwich until you’ve had one from this place.

This isn’t just a sandwich shop....

This is the best Chicken Cutlet I’ve had on a sandwich, and probably the best I’ve eaten outside of home-cooked chicken schnitzel. Crispy, juicy, delicious. Before I had this, the 3 best in the area would probably be Belgiovine’s in Montclair, Chatham Sandwich Shop, and Millburn Deli. This blows all of them out of the water.

The ā€œAP Sandwichā€ with Burrata is inspired, and you can absolutely tell the bread is homemade – crispy and perfect. I was a bit put off by the price, but when I saw the size of the sandwich and generous amount of meat – it really is the size of 2 sandwiches.

Also a quick shoutout to the warm people working there who seemed delighted that I enjoyed the meal.

Three very small pieces of constructive feedback:

  1. maybe offer a half size?
  2. chocolate chip cookie was delicious, but too many chocolate chips, so overly gooey (maybe a plus for some)
  3. the sandwich was so incredibly good, I wish there was a little more variety in sandwich choices; however, I’ll choose quality over variety every single time.

I will...

Way overdue for this review. This place is fantastic and an added addition to my lunch routine when I’m in Essex County. I live nearly an hour and a half away, so I’m not up here often, but when I do, Staci’s is a must for lunch.

The passion she puts into each sandwich is certainly noticed. When you ask a question or have a comment, the response is more than just a nod, a word or two, or a cliche line. It’s a detailed and passionate explanation of what goes into your sandwich.

I love that many of the ingredients of the sandwiches are locally sourced. The bread is soft and fresh and just the right about of condiments/sauce.

The inside is cozy and charming. Take out is simple - order online and pick it up at the counter.

Highly recommend and you won’t break the bank. The staff is super friendly and the food is exception. What more can you ask for??

The Buffalo sauce is the best I have ever had and this is coming from a wing eater who’s taken the voyage to Buffalo, NY. The perfect blend or sweet,...
