Took my wife here for her Birthday. No service, stale pre-made sushi, poor quality ingredients. Overall quite BAD!
Although this place is rated top by Trip Advisor and several other blogs, we did not expect it to be superb, but rather hoped it would be good, especially considering that you pay about 70% higher priced here than other sushi places in Gothenburg.
We got a decent table after some negotiation and mentioning that it was for a birthday. The one nice thing is that my wife got a complementary mango slushy drink with a sparkler due to her birthday. The waitress who brought this by also sang "happy birthday". From this point, the rest of the experience was very disappointing.
The mango drink was made from concentrate and was crazy sweet. I guess that is okay since we did not pay for it, still a waste though. For ordering, there is no real service. You simply scan a QR code, order and pay online via swish. We ordered the 30 piece sushi set to share between us. It came 3-4 minutes after placing the order, which means it was not made fresh for us. The presentation of the dish was nice, but that's about it. The rolls tasted all about the same. Typical poor Swedish interpretation of sushi, drenched is soy glaze, spicy mayo and fried onions. The rice tasted stale and had a dry crust on it. It was also poorly seasoned with poor texture. There was very little fish in the rolls or on the nigiri. The fish itself was of bad quality. You could not even taste the fish as you ate the roll of nigiri. All you could taste is sugar and salt. The set included 2 tiny pieces of what is supposed to be sashimi. These were a piece of defrosted tuna and a tiny slice of salmon. The quality of the tuna was something you would get in a frozen ahi tuna stake that you would buy from Lidl. All the rest was about the same: avocado was tasteless and almost crunchy, for some reason there was cabbage on the plate, most of other ingredients you could not even tell apart. To sum it up, any Japanese or traditionally trained sushi chef would be ashamed to make this and serve this to a customer. The prices were also absurd. 30 pieces were 500 SEK, as in other places which actually serve at least something fresh, would charge 300 SEK.
Our general experience is that sushi is generally quite bad in Gothenburg, but in our opinion Takame is worse than average while being exorbitantly overpriced. I have read the reviews to this place on google prior to going, but they must be bot generated. Its hard to believe that this place is listed a top sushi place in Gothenburg. Take your...

When we got to the restaurant we had to wait around 10-15 min even though we had made a reservation. It seemed like there wasn't enough staff to place the guest. Me and around 8 more people had to stand around and just wait until we got seated.
When we got seated we waited for the menu for around 10min until a server came and told us that we had to scan a QR code 🤪 He did not think to ask us if we've been here before, offer us water or any help. The service here was below sub par to say the least. Everyone seemed stressed and was rushing, food was piling up at the counter and it was not brought to any tables.
And to the food, which was decent. For what your getting vs the price the vegan sushi was not great. Small portion (not a lot of rice) and just vegetables, no protein if you're a vegetarian/vegan. I wish there were more vegan/vegetarian options for smaller dishes. If you have any allergies I would not come here. The digital menu does not include all the ingredients, you can't remove ingredients for the dishes and since no staff takes your order you can't ask them what they contain.
But at least the drinks were great 😃 The Lychee drink was so delicious and I highly...
Read moreThe restaurant looks nice and cozy. Didn’t like the music so much and the volume inside the restaurant was a bit loud, so it was hard to hear the person across me.
The lady at the desk was nice and helped us fast. Unfortunately the waiter we got didn’t really explain to us how to order and just sat us down. Took us a solid 15min to figure out that we were supposed to use the small barcode on the table to order. This information was suppose to be giving to us, cause the people seated after us on the table next to us got the information whiles we didn’t.
The appetisers we ordered were Cirspy rice nigiri, Korean spring rolls, Tempura shrimp, Gyoza dumpling, Tuna tataki. They were mediocre. Wouldn’t recommend the tuna since it was somewhat frozen and spicy which was not pleasant. The tempura was bland and needed more seasoning.
The Takame roll was bland and flavourless. The crispy chicken was good and in contrast to everything els very flavourful. Whiles the Wagyu nigiri was atrocious, it had an torch taste to it which wasn’t pleasant.
The drinks we ordered were alright, Sakura, and Daiquiri. But the Daiquiri was very messy and was melting and spilling all...
