Seriously, the decor is at least 10 years old and that was probably the last time they did a serious cleaning of the walls and ceiling. We got to sit in a cramped up table beneath a pair of crutches with the dirty old straps attached, the were hanging above the ceiling fan directly screwed up in the ceiling. Disgusting.

En tidigare säker pubhamn sedan många år verkar börja svaja.... Har känts skönt att ha Old Beefeater Inn som ett säkert kort.

Det kanske har gått för bra efter pandemin....? Något har hänt.

Någon gång under 2022 blev jag glad när Rubens Sandwich hade kommit på menyn. Min förväntan var kanske för stor, det blev en besvikelse. Fram tills februari 2023 har det blivit några ströbesök.

Nu senast kom vi för att var rejält hungriga. Själv valde jag en stor ryggbiff. Först när maten kom in tänkte jag på att ingen frågat hur jag ville ha den stekt.

Olyckan hade skett, stekningen hade förstört biffen, det var rejält förbi well done. Självklart kunde jag ha sagt till, men jag var för hungrig och hade inte någon ork till att klaga. Maten var upplagd utan eftertanke, vitlöken var skuren långt från mitten och jag fick naturligtvis den del där det fanns några små flagor vitlök kvar i skalet. Missnöjet hade slagit rot, plötsligt tyckte jag att skålen med potatisgratäng hade blivit väsentligt mindre, kanske fel.

För första gången någonsin lämnade jag en stor bit av min ryggbiff att tas ut till soporna.

Förstör inte "Beefeater" med sådant slarv. Säg till kocken att höja ambitionsnivån.
