Stopped by this restaurant with my family and parents. I was a bit suprised of the very nice, modern and well decorated restaurant (not what I expected for a standard Vietnamese in Sweden). The waitress was very kind and answered all the questions we had and described all the dishes when served and how to eat them. We had the duck bun, summer rolls, banh mi, and mango salad for starters, then pho, curry and a meat and rice bowl. Loved the starters, all felt very fresh with good ingredients, the banh mi was good but couldn't shake off the feeling that the bread was a frozen baguette that they just warmed. Mango salad felt like a Vietnamese version of papaya salad, fresh, spicy and tasty with the nuts. Out of the mains, the pho and meat bowl was the best, curry nothing special. I would really recommend this place to anyone looking for good Vietnamese food.

Tried the vegan version of the Pho Bo here for dinner, solo on a Saturday night. The noodles were well cooked and held an interesting texture. Pleasantly surprised there were 2 types of tofu. Yum. Comes with optional condiments and sauces. The price portion ratio is questionable, but otherwise I'd also highly recommend the vegan Summer Rolls. Really liked the skin, the fillings were delicious. Probably one of the best I've had thus far. Comparatively, the homemade lemonade wasn't something to write home about, still, it wasn't overly sour, and came topped with a small slice of pineapple. The restaurant offers a great city atmosphere. Would suggest booking a table beforehand. They do have some seats available at the bar. Staff were friendly and diligent, came across with a genuine care about food allergies.

Starting with the atmosphere, it's a cozy little restaurant (reservation of table recommended) that is busy even during the week. The staff is very friendly and explain everything in detail if you ask about things. Even practicing the pronunciation of the dishes which I very much enjoyed. It's a warm and cozy place and the staff was very welcoming. The Pho was amazing. By making their own broth (I went for vegetarian option so the broth was made of shiitake mushrooms) the Pho becomes a very delicious dish with loads of fresh ingredients, vegetables and noodles. It was very delicious!! The summer roll was, too, so delicious! Didn't go for desert which looked very nice. Totally recommend!!

If you're looking for an authentic and delicious Vietnamese dining experience, look no further than this family-owned gem.

The team here is truly passionate about their food, and it shows in every dish they serve, including the vegan options. The chefs take great care in selecting the freshest ingredients, and their attention to detail is evident in the beautiful presentation of each plate.

The waiters are incredibly friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the food they are serving. They are happy to help you navigate the menu. We really connected with one of the waiters, and she gave us excellent recommendations for other restaurants and cafes in Gothenburg. We even bumped into her in the city where she remembered our names, and we got to say hello to her baby son in the stroller 😍

After finishing our first dinner at this restaurant, we immediately booked another reservation for the next day! And we were not disappointed.

Normally, I'm not a big dessert person, but the desserts here were a real standout, and they provided the perfect finish to an already very delicious meal.

In conclusion, if you're looking for a truly memorable dining experience in Gothenburg, look no further than this family-owned Vietnamese restaurant. The passion and care that the staff and chefs bring to every dish is outstanding, and I cannot recommend this place highly...

Vietnamese food is not something I eat more than once a year or maybe even less. It's generally not high in the list of dishes I am looking to eat in general. For me, I think it is the herbs and vegetables that generally give Vietnamese dishes a certain taste I am not a fan of. So I wasn't expecting much when I went to Vi Viet. Oh boy was I in for a surprise.

The services was amazing, MUCH different than most other restaurants in Gothenburg I have been at. Waiters and waitresses were coming around fairly often to check on us and were very friendly. They asked every person on the table about allergies before taking the order and also whether we wanted coriander or not.

The food was just delicious. I had the pork noodle soup (only available Fridays and Saturdays) and couldn't get enough of it.

I had a table booked by a friend who has been there before and have been told that trying to get a table on the spot might be difficult so my recommendation is to book ahead.

Definitely...

A rather average and overpriced experience.

The locale itself is well situated, but not charming at all with a sterile look and no (?) music. it feels more like a communist style lunch place (milk bar). The staff is very friendly and attentive however, as well as knowledgeable, which is much appreciated.

The food itself however has a flashy presentation, but behind that lies a lot of the same and overused ingredients. The Vietnamese salad (cucumber, carrot, tangy lime dressing) looks great, but it seems a large batch is produced and put into every dish. We had one appetizer and two mains and half of all three dishes was this exact same salad,. Apart from that more inexpensive ingredients like a lot of just cold and cooked rice noodles and some protein and stir fry. The stir fry itself was alright, but too salty. Okay vegan options though.

Overall, would not recommend. The prices are way too high for...
