Unfortunately I will never come back here again (even if the cheesecake is good). My friend and I bought 2 cheesecake slices and 2 cups of hot chocolate with whipped cream (at a pretty high price of 91 SEK each, but that's not the point). In the room upstairs, there's a jug filled with filtered coffee for refills. Now, apparently, if you buy a 35 SEK filtered coffee then you can refill it. If you buy a more expensive drink, like hot chocolate (which is like 45 SEK or something), you can't. This is not expressely written anywhere. Yes, there is a sign that says "coffee is not free", but that clearly refers to "you can't just take your own cup from home and fill it with coffee", which of course makes total sense. But, if I buy a more expensive drink, why can't I do a cheaper coffee refill, if the jug is literally there, at everyone's disposal? If I go to a fast food and order a Coca Cola, after I am done I can refill it with Sprite, no? (Spoiler: Yes, you can). Actually the better comparison would be "if I buy Coca Cola, I can refill it with water, no?", because water is less valuable than Coca Cola, just like warmed filtered coffee (which by the way tasted like dirty mud water, too) is less valuable than a hot chocolate. The girl who told us this was also very unpleasant and pedantic, refusing to see the point of view or accepting that it was not clear and maybe change the sign (she said it's like buying pizza and then expect to get a free sandwich. No it isn't! It's like "buying a pizza, then finding a table upstairs full of sandwiches that look free with no sign that expressely prohibits to take them if you took a pizza, and taking one"). Anyway, we paid the 35 extra SEK, but I find glee in knowing they won't get any more of my money which I'll spend on better café places! Hope it was worth it to lose a client that would've spent maybe thousands of SEK in the long run over 35 SEK. I'm sorry cause the other older woman from last time I went was actually adorable and I'm sorry to write these things about...
Read moreINCREDIBLE cakes and average/bad coffee. Service is a Schrödinger's cat: you get either friendly smile and help or public humiliation.
A tiny piece of cake costs ~39-49 kr, but it is served on a chopped plate. The plate was cold and a nice worker added some extra whipped cream, which was really nice, but chopped plate... seriously? Today coffee for me and my friend was served in chopped cups (thanks, that they were not leaking, I guess?)
The owner is incredibly rude if you are doing something she doesn't like (a few months ago we visited the place, but I remembered that I had a homemade muffin at my purse, so I wanted to share it with my friend. It wasn't nice from my side, but considering that we ordered here anyway and I was a very loyal customer at the time, she could say nicely that eating your own food is not allowed at the café. Instead the owner yelled at us in front of all the people for 5 minutes, so I felt like I was a misbehaving kid. We stopped eating (obviously), apologized, but kept the half eaten muffin on the table. She came back and yelled at me again. After that I didn't go to the café for a few months, so I discovered much better places to go in Lund). Also recently I saw her grabbing salad (for another customer) with her hands, when she dropped off a salad spoon on the floor...
No Wi-Fi.
Don't use the bathroom if you did not order first, there's a 20 kr fine for that.
Other workers are really friendly and helpful, so it balances the things a little bit.
My advice: get cakes takeaway, because they WORTH ALL THE MONEY AND POSSIBLE RUDENESS, but don't eat there, unless you are absolutely sure you are following all the rules of the owner. Otherwise you will be humiliated in front of everyone for refilling your cup of Latte with...
Read moreDO NOT GO HERE! I don't normally write reviews but this café had really rude and disrespectful staff. After my friends had bought 300kr worth of food (which was only one latte, a sandwich, and 3cm slice of cheesecake) we headed up stairs and I was stopped by the lady saying that I was not allowed to sit with my friends if I didn't buy anything (mind you they were not even busy). My stomach was hurting, so I really did not want anything, but I ordered the cheapest thing I could find (1 espresso shot for 25kr-- also burnt). When I went to pay, the lady said she would not accept card for charges under 45kr. Note: Sweden has almost completely gotten rid of paper and coin currency, so almost no one has currency. Because of that I was forced to buy an additional bottle of soda just so I could sit with my friends while they ate their lunch.
If you are going to take a fika or lunch at a café in Lund, this is the last place I would go. There are much higher quality, cleaner, cheaper, more aesthetically pleasing, and kinder bakeries only 200 meter away such as Ebba's Pantry or...
