Me and my husband spontaneously walked into this restaurant as we were planning on going to Mrs Saigon on the same street but it was closed.
I ordered the Vermicelli dish with marinated chicken (number 15 on the menu) and my husband ordered a Bahn Mi.
When I received my dish I tasted the different parts of it and noticed right away that the chicken did not taste fresh. I let my husband try and he agreed with me. It tasted as if it had been in the freezer for too long. I went on to try the noodles and they were completely overcooked.
I am not the type of person who returns a dish to the kitchen but I was actually really disappointed with these two main ingredients of this dish. The waiter took my plate and said he would check with the kitchen. He then came back to me and said that the chicken had been cooked yesterday, that it takes two days to make their food (I assume because of the marinade). I said that the chicken tasted old and he said he really didn't understand what I meant. He asked if I wanted to try the same dish again or if I wanted to order something else. I chose to order a Bahn Mi with eggs instead.
The waiter came back to me with the sandwich and said that maybe the Vermicelli dish was just not my "taste". I explained to him that I have had plenty of Vietnamese food before, and especially the vermicelli dishes.
A few concluding comments: The dish I first ordered was 99 sek, the Bahn Mi that replaced it is 58 sek on their menu. I was not given any money back.
Instead of taking the critique of a customer as a waiter should, this guy just assumed I knew nothing about Vietnamese food and perhaps that I just don't know how it's supposed to taste. (I've spent 3 years in Canada where there is an abundance of fantastic Vietnamese restaurants much thanks to the high competition, and I also pride myself of cooking my own Pho - a process that takes around 5 hours)
Let me tell you this, even if it takes 2 days to marinade and prepare your chicken, that should not make it taste as if it's been hanging out in the freezer for a few months. And it's easy to mess up vermicelli noodles, but that should not be the case for a Vietnamese restaurant.
The egg sandwich was alright, better would have been if I paid 58 instead...
Read moreEnvironment: If you have been in this place earlier, it was boring interior without any charm - however they have renovated very recently with dark tones that makes the restaurant a bit more cosy to stay in.
Food & Drinks: This is a pit stop when I want a Vietnamese fast food, although I have tasted better Vietnamese buns. Try their bubble tea. I go for the lychee flavour - it is bursting with interesting flavours.
Service: A smile wouldn't hurt once in a while - they just seem uninterested every time I visit it.

Read moreI had the 4 large summer rolls and was pleasantly surprised. I expected good but got better! I opted for the tiger shrimp option, including rice noodles coated in peanut oil, carrots, cucumber, lettuce and something unidentified but could've been star anise. Really good and filling, all for a good price (if you avoid the expensive drinks). I liked the decorations and the comfortable chairs. It was a small space that still had lots of places to sit and still didn't feel...
