This place was truly incredible
. Deserving of a sixth star if it were possible. We had reservations for 6pm. The place still had a lot of space at the time. Our server was very kind, the owner of the restaurant also engaged us in conversation and took a photo for us. We were truly grateful to hear his story and take his recommendations for drinks (Krystal’s Kiss and Spiced Negroni). By 7 pm the place was packed. On the right hand side of the restaurant you get a view of the kitchen, and the chef’s at work. For appetizers, we went with the ginger and garlic shrimp (our favorite) and the Curry Goat Croquettes (also tasty). You’ll miss out if you leave the coconut that’s on the side of the plate, be sure to shovel it on the shrimp. For dinner, first the Cuban Spiced Seared Tuna. The Tuna was perfect, but also found the quinoa polenta and avocado mayo to be a delicious surprise. The curry lamb shank fell off the bone. The broth was flavorful, but not over powering and the vegetables were a nice touch. As you look around, you’ll see everyone enjoying themselves
. The patrons moving to the music, enjoying delicious food and drinks
.. and the joy of the staff. Must experience while in Stockholm, you won’t be disappointed!

Cane Rum Society is a delightful hidden gem nestled in the Nya Karolinska area of Stockholm. Despite its somewhat awkward location, this Caribbean restaurant offers a truly memorable dining experience. The food is incredibly delicious and bursting with flavor. The ambiance strikes a perfect balance between cozy and cool, with walls adorned with rum bottles and excellent lighting that sets the mood just right. One of the highlights is the open kitchen, where you can watch the chefs expertly prepare your meal. It’s a rare treat to find such an authentic Caribbean spot in Stockholm, and the spiciness of the dishes is a pleasant surprise compared to typical Swedish restaurants. The jerk chicken was exceptionally tender, and the rice was perfectly spiced. The sweet potato fries were a standout, rekindling my love for this dish. The owner is very kind, friendly, and accommodating, genuinely interested in guests’ opinions about the food and the restaurant. This personal touch adds to the overall wonderful experience. If you’re looking for a unique and flavorful dining experience, Cane Rum Society is definitely worth a visit.

A cozy, well-thought and well-decorated place with a warm atmosphere and friendly, hospitable service despite the hiccup in the booking system. The avocado jackfruit toast had great flavours combination, balanced with pomegranate seeds and packed a surprise with the heat from the jalapeno. The crispy pork belly was underwhelming, not crispy and lack of seasoning, but still okay. Cuban spiced tuna was fresh and tasty. The jerk chicken was tasty, elevated with the char from the open fire—tho not as hot as we expected and lacking the scotch bonnet chili flavour(?). The coleslaw was fresh with spot on balance of sweetness and a hint of acidity. The flame grilled pineapple was a bit thin and the rum taste in the ice cream was too subtle—would’ve been great if it was stronger. The drinks were nice—the pina colada’s glass was properly frozen, the mai thai had a bang from the rum served with generous amount of mint. All in all a nice dinner experience, would go back again to try other menu (seafood pelau).

Honest Review: I really tried to avoid writing this review but I am just so disappointed 😔. My husband and I dined in at Cane Rum Society on Tuesday. We were super impressed with the atmosphere, aesthetic, and relaxed vibe! We ordered 2 drinks and 2 appetizers to start but noticed that only 1 drink arrived to the table and then 1 appetizer. I’m not sure why servers rely on memory but it is always best to write down the complete order. Restaurants lose SO much money because wait staff are way too confident that they will remember your order and customers are frustrated when having to ask multiple times. Nonetheless, our server was very sweet and kind.

We received our 2nd drink after asking and decided to forget about the 2nd appetizer because: 1) the Cajun fries were extremely disappointing. Maybe the recipe needs to be changed or the item should be removed from the menu. It seemed like a basic combination or reheated sweet potato fries, melted Kraft cheddar cheese, and green onions 2) The main course would be arriving soon so it was not worth reminding the server of the squid. As a main course we ordered the Crawfish Creole Broil and Jerk Chicken. I realized when tasting this food that there was a high chance that the chef was not Caribbean and/or had very limited experience cooking creole or Caribbean foods. I say this due to the taste of the food (not well marinated and maybe they assumed that spicy food = flavorful food). I would also say this due to the portion size. The crayfish broil is two half pieces of corn, 2 extra small potatoes, 2 small crayfish, and A LOT of broth.

My husband and I were so saddened by the lack of care put into these dishes that we left and went to Xulo Latin restaurant to eat a meal and dessert.

It’s unfortunate because we have wanted to dine at Cane Rum Society for weeks. Our hopes were very high. After this experience we will not return and unfortunately can not recommend the...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Cane Rum Society in Stockholm, and it was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment I walked in, the service was impeccable, making me feel incredibly welcomed, even though I was dining solo. It felt as if I was having dinner with friends.

The food was absolutely delightful. I started with the shrimp appetizer and goat croquette, followed by the Bajan Soul Bowl. Each dish was bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. I did send one dish back, but the staff went above and beyond to ensure my satisfaction. Not only did they bring me a new dish, but they also removed the original item from the bill, despite my insistence that it wasn’t necessary. Their commitment to offering the best in their food offerings truly impressed me.

And then, there’s the drinks – I’m a big fan of crushed ice, and they do it perfectly here! The cocktails were refreshing and expertly crafted, adding to the overall experience.

I love this place so much that I wish I lived in Stockholm just to visit regularly. I went twice during my stay, and each time was an amazing experience. Cane Rum Society is a gem, and I can’t recommend it...
