Great food, but service needs improvement I recently visited El Birria at the Scandinavian mallband tried the Birria loaded bowl with chicken, spicy jalapeño sauce served on a bed of fries. The food was honestly amazing — the chicken was flavorful, the sauce had just the right kick of heat, and the fries were perfectly crispy. It really hit the spot and felt like a great treat after a long day of shopping..

However, the experience wasn’t perfect. The place was extremely crowded, which is understandable on a weekend, but the service was noticeably slow. I had to wait quite a while for my order, and I felt the staff could have been more attentive and welcoming. A friendly smile or more helpful attitude would have made a big difference, especially when the place is busy and people are waiting around.

Overall, I’d still recommend El Birria for the tasty food — it’s definitely worth a try if you’re craving something flavorful. Just be prepared for longer wait times during peak hours and don’t expect the warmest customer service. There was nothing wrong with the food. However the owner interrupted us WHILST we were still eating ( I literally had a taco in my hand) and he asked us if we were finished?! I looked at my friend in disbelief because we were as i said eating with a drink in my hand and a taco in another. I felt stressed to eat just because of the high pressure of people who wanted to have a seat. In no situation should a customer be asked if we are ready to leave whilst eating, creates a stressful and uncomfortable environment. He then came back as soon as we took our last bite to ask us if we could leave, i didnt even have time to swallow my last bite!! I quite like el birria! It’s not exactly like real Mexican food but it’s still so much better than some other “Mexican” restaurants.

I’d say that there’s two cons: one of them being that it’s usually A LOT of people there and the majority of those people tend to be teenagers. Therefore it’s usually a lot of talking around you. The other one is that it can be a long waiting time, that might be a problem if one is really hungry or alone, other than that I’d say it’s worth for the food!
