Let me start by saying I really like Vapiano normally. It's a solid 4 star in my books, but this location needs serious help. Either they lack staff or need new management. I have been here twice in the last 2 weeks hoping the first experience was an anomaly but it wasn't. First off, many items on the menu were sold out. When we did order, we waited almost 45 minutes for the food and when the order came, they informed us that the pizza dough had run out so half our order couldn't be served. On both visits we couldn't get our full order. Sure we were refunded, but why couldn't I have been informed the food was out much earlier so I could have ordered something else. When the food arrived, the pasta that came didn't meet the normal standards we are accustomed to. The pasta was clumped, the sauce not properly mixed and ingredients burnt. When I tried to inform all these shortcomings to the person in charge, they couldn't even look at me. To top it all off, the bathrooms were disgusting. Read moreI’ve been visiting different Vapiano restaurants during the past 11 years. Although the ordering system has always been a pain but it has never been so ridiculous. Recently it has introduced this QR code ordering system, unlike the ones in other restaurants, it’s not intuitive at all. As a customer, it’s not clear to me at all if I’m supposed to pick the food by myself or wait to be served. Apparently other customers are also confused, they have been going to chat with the chef to understand the situation as there is no one at the reception. As for my case, unfortunately, the food was wrongly delivered to another table due to the chaotic process, and I had to wait for 40 minutes to get my food during this low traffic weekday. Tried to order food through the app but it forces you to create an account. I’m a TOURIST, I don’t want to make an account. Told the staff (Sulaiman) about it and he insisted I don’t have to make an account, even when I showed him the site, which does NOT let me pay unless I create an account. The site also asked me to tip BEFORE I even get served. Makes absolutely no sense.
I had to order at the bar in the end. FYI if you order at the bar, you’re not required to tip, but everything is self-service.
The food was average, but the aperol spritz tasted terrible. Definitely don’t recommend.
The shittiest part (no pun intended) is that I got mild food poisoning from the food. Thanks for ruining...
