Bambi is ok. My wife likes french food and Bambi had good reviews so we gave it a try. We ordered oysters and pâté as starters to share. The oysters were served with just slices of lemon. I expected some vinaigrette at least; if I went to a seafood market I would be ok with just the lemon but this is a restaurant. Also, one of the oysters was not shucked clean and it happened to be the last one I ate; not pleasant. The pâté was a little too salty and just too chewy I guess; maybe it had more meat than it should. We ordered the bone-in pork chops to share as a main. On the menu it said it was meant for 2 people to share but it was a little small. With that said, it was cooked perfectly and the peppercorn brown sauce worked well. The hasselback potatoes it came with were amazing; still only 5 or 6 small sized potatoes felt too little for sharing. We got the madeleines for dessert; they were warm and yummy but tiny; way smaller than ones you will find in a Paris bakery. What really threw me off was the ambience/decor. I get that they are going for a hipster vibe but I don’t think it landed right. The lighting was very thrifty and tasteful; the tables were set with cleaned pressed tablecloth…very nice; but the tableware and glassware just felt cheap. If they wanted to stick with the thrift theme then just go to second hand place and get some previously loved glassware or antiques even. But it felt like IKEA glassware…C’mon now. And the w/c wasn’t dirty but it was trash; straight up ghetto public w/c vibe actually. I hope they make some effort to redo it. I would have had a better experience if it was nicer. I would rate this...
Read moreThe type of restaurant I love. Simple menu, relaxed atmosphere and attentive but not overbearing service. We arrived an hour before our reservation but that was not an issue and were seated immediately. Water arrived with our menus and we were left to look for a couple of minutes. Our waitress returned and asked if we would love wine and suggested something that would match our meal choice. My tartar starter arrived after a good pause and it was deliciously well balanced, highly recommended. After about 30 minutes our Choux Farcis arrived. We both thought it was very tasty, it’s a delicious sauce and the wine pairing was spot on. Lastly our deserts, a Crème Brûlée and cheese plate. The French cheeses with some sourdough were perfect as was the deliciously creamy brûlée. Overall a great experience, in a great relaxed atmosphere with the type of service you don’t often get in Stockholm. Don’t miss out on...
Read moreThe food was decent and ambiance really great!
Sadly the waiter was indiscreet which almost ruined our entire evening.
I told him quietly that I was pregnant and asked him which dishes I could eat when we ordered starters.
Later on in the evening, when he served a dessert cheese platter to our friends, he addressed me loudly in front of the entire table “you shouldn’t eat these because some of them aren’t pasteurized”. Our friends were like “what was that about??” and we...
