Baras Backe — Restaurant in Stockholm

My boyfriend was not allowed in after they looked at his Irish licence because he was “too drunk” after he had not drank anything. This also happened to another one of my Irish friends earlier in the evening. However, they allowed a group of Swedish and German people who basically fell in the door drunk to come in after us.

I have no doubt that this was a racist decision as I have had no issues myself here before but they seem to not want Irish men inside. After being confronted over the decision, the bouncers laughed in our faces and said it was their decision and never denied it was a racist one. Such a power trip on their behalf. It is unacceptable to discriminate against an entire body of people based on nationality.

Anyways, based off previous experiences there the bartenders are poor at best and it’s a lottery whether you’ll even get the right drink. They’re all useless and the bouncers are worse. Overpriced and trashy...

The place is cute and all BUT they are super confused and confusing at the same time. The guy at the entrance told us that to have a drink we would have to go upstairs so we went. Then the waiter told us that upstairs they only took the restaurant orders so we went downstairs again to order our beer. The guy who previously told us to go upstairs was the one taking orders. We ordered, he made us pay and just left us there standing while he walked away! The waiter came in and asked us for IDs and driving license (apparently the Italian ID isn't good enough for Sweden) and finally told us they were out of that kind of beer and had to go get it. He came with the beers 10 minutes later which is ok but still. Not even the best beer I ever had, definitely not worth...

The bouncer didn’t let me and my friend in, because it was ”full” and we were ”too drunk”.
