Bistro Rolf de Maré — Restaurant in Stockholm

Chanced upon Bistro Rolf de Mare while we were searching for a dinner place that was not the usual burgers/Italian joints that are scattered around our hotel. Ended up with this highly recommended restaurant which turned out to be one of our best finds in Stockholm. Had the Salmon (Halstrad lax) and the Saffron Fish Stew (Rolf de Marés fisk- och skaldjursgryta) which is extremely underrated. The salmon was so tender, coupled with the creamy sauce was superb (and for those who love beansprouts, there were some which added to a slight "crunch" and sweet taste to the overall dish). The fish stew was heavenly, filled with small shrimps and a very tender fish (and not stingy/selfish with the portion, there was A LOT of meat). We also had the Paloma (cocktail) & the Irish Coffee, both were also made deliciously. Our server (a lady mostly at the front of the house) was extremely warm & the whole dinner experience was delightful for us. The other staff were polite and responded to us quickly as well. We tried this bistro on our first night in Stockholm and it definitely set the bar high for our future dining experiences in the city. The bistro was very cozy with nice decoration, located centrally near many transport stations. Our waiter was very polite and attentive from the start of our experience. The menu had several choices but we ended up choosing the fish n chips and halstrad lax, both fish dishes. Both dishes were extremely well prepared and very flavorful. The portion size was generous and the presentation of the food itself was very well done. We had a white wine with our meal that paired very nicely. The dessert menu also had several tasty looking options but we settled on the brownie, which was also well prepared and flavorful. The overall experience here was a wonderful start to our holiday and we will definitely be coming back on any future visits...

Stunning experience ! I’m not sure is it Swedish culture or not but it’s a horrible time for me When I tried to order food but the name is Swedish name. So, I pointed at the menu name and said “Can I have this one?” a waitress said “Can you read” So, I try to read the menu name in Swedish if it convinced to her and she said “It has a English name you see, you can order in English” that made we all was in shocked, I ordered three plates of food with such a long time cause I have to read a whole sentences (the red sentences below menu in English) and at the last menu I read just a few because it toooooo long.
