We were staying in Stockholm for 3 days, and we were tired of "touristic" restaurants. We wanted something subtle, local and authentic.
We searched online and found Broms, a cute little restaurant on the corner of 2 streets in Östermalm.
When we entered the place, we saw a little counter where they sell local goods, then the actual restaurant in the back. We knew it was the place we were looking for.
I had the tartare, which I've been craving for a few days, it was perfect. The fries were good but a little too salted, but no biggie. My dad had the meatballs with mushroom sauce. He hates mushrooms, but loved this mushroom sauce. I tasted it, it was awesome. He also mentioned the potato purée was out of this world.
The place is nicely decorated. I remember the service there to be super friendly, lots of smiles. Also, there is a statue of a man made out of plates and dishes, how...
Read moreThis is a nice restaurant on Karlavagen at the heart of Östermalm. Great atmosphere and good service. It tends to get busy so better book in advance. We had a tasty appetiser with mushrooms and melted cheese in a toasted bread. Presentation could have been better but taste was fantastic. We also had the steak and tuna taco. Steak was great and had an option of fries or grilled potatoes. The tuna was a small portion and the presentation and taste was pretty average. The restaurant has a good selection of wines and even for wines by the glass the waiter offered a tasting before serving. The only part that through me off was that there was a really strong smell of gas inside the restaurant and in the end we moved outside. We mentioned this to the reservations manager but he kind of brushed it off. It felt that this is a known issue. Not sure how serious it is but it certainly...
Read moreFood average, service so bad, a lot of free tables but the head waiter decided to place us at a high bar table with another elderly couple. We wanted to sit alone and were placed at another high table but this time at an even worse one with bad chairs. My girlfriend has back problems and we needed chairs that have backrests but only after some arguing did we get one chair thats semi comfortable. While they had a perfectly empty unused table with great chairs for back issues and we were seated right next to the dirty dishes area which was so unpleasant. The head waiter is a smug and arrogant small man and that can be seen even by the first interaction. Meatballs for the people is a much better place. So in conclusion: average food, there are other way better places in sweden, horrible staff and mid atmosphere and its...
