food was decent, unfortunately service leaves a lot to be desired. Me and a friend were visiting Stockholm for the first time, stumbled across Waipo and sat at the bar. We ordered dumplings, duck, and the pork belly and chicken tapas. A man presumably brought them out to us after a bit, he was only speaking Swedish (we speak no swedish and had been speaking english to everyone helping us prior) and we only understood "pork and chicken" from what he was saying. Around 5 minutes later a different man came out and gave us what we though were the dumplings we ordered. The food was given to us so we ate. The duck hadn't come out yet but we thought since that was a main course and everything else we ordered had been tapas/starters that it would come after. About 10 minutes after getting the dumplings the man who had given us the pork and chicken came back out and said "this is not your food its theirs" and pointed at two people down the bar from us. He had what we ordered in his hands and stated "you guys should switch". Me and my friend apologized to both the waiter and the couple down the bar to which the waiter then said at us "this wasn't your food? why did you take it? why did you start eating it?" which was surprisingly rude. 1: we have never been to Sweden before, let alone this restaurant, we don't know what the dishes are supposed to look like? 2: he only spoke in Swedish when he was handing the food to us, 3: we had the food for at least 15 minutes and were close to done when this happened. After this interaction we were just stunned. We offered two of the dumplings, that we had not touched, to the couple and apologized more to them. The waiter then came out again after this and said that we would only be paying for the food we got and not for our order but that meant we didn't get the main course we ordered. We paid and he took the one pepsi we ordered off the bill and gave us 10% off which was nice and the main reason this review is 2 stars not 1. We appreciated that but the whole experience was a huge bummer and put a damper on our mood for the rest of the night. Every interaction with that man was frustrating and he was rude the whole time, not once did he apologize or say that there was a mistake made. Somehow he found a way to spin us getting the wrong food as our fault? Which again was not fun. Unfortunate as well as the woman taking care of us at the start was super sweet and kind, we have no...
Read more"We had pre-booked a table at this restaurant to try the menu, where each person incurred about 600 crowns in expenses. We had requested in advance for our table not to be in a crowded area and, at the same time, not to be near the entrance. However, when we arrived, no table had been reserved for us. The restaurant manager, who was not at all hospitable, casually suggested we could sit anywhere. What's interesting is that there was no appealing spot for us. I asked if there was a designated place for our coats, and he replied, 'Your chair has enough space,' which was truly disrespectful.
We changed our table three times. The first was in the middle of the restaurant, facing a large group of noisy guests, causing discomfort. The second was near the entrance, and the third was in a nice location but uncomfortably cold and unsteady.
The restaurant's food was good, but relatively cold, and there was no proper timing between the courses. Between the first and second courses, it took 15 minutes. After finishing the third course, the restaurant manager informed us they wanted to close the kitchen and suggested combining the remaining courses at 20:30.
As someone with specialized culinary training in France and over 15 years of experience, it was the worst experience of my life to go to a restaurant on the night of our anniversary. Have you ever reserved a table and not been accommodated? It's truly disappointing that the efforts of the chef and kitchen team should be devalued by the incorrect and inappropriate behavior of the restaurant manager. I would never recommend anyone spend even half an hour in...
Read moreThe food is excellent, delicious hearty and portions are generous. We tried the assorted dim sum and its really well worth the money it has four items with truffles and all the varieties were delicious. On the other hand, service is really a poor experience. Im not sure if he is the owner or the general manager, but the chinese man manning the hall was rude from the beginning. We entered 20min before the end of lunch time so we asked if they were still serving, we were shown to a table so we assumed it was ok to stay. After the waitress showed us the qr for the menu and 5 min passed, the chinese man approached us and told us we have to order and stop wasting time coz kitchen was closing. Understandable and fare warning, but then again there are much better ways to go about telling your customers to hurry. Plus its not like he gave us a previous warning. After that he came with the bill telling us to pay, when we haven’t even been served the appetizer. Usually in these situations, servers tend to be appologetic about charging before service and ask for your understanding and cooperation. We paid with no resistance but during the rest of the meal were treated like a nuisance (and we weren’t even the only customers there). The waitress that met us at the door and a waiter that explained a couple of items on the menu were lovely attentive a d very correct so if you are serviced by anyone other than the chinese man that seemed to be the one un charge, the experience will be completely good. Otherwise you’ll have a great meal in a hostile...
