Long story short, waiter was rude to us because he "misunderstood" and we left early. We were sat here to order, first the waiter was already rude when we ordered one drink instead of immediately 2 after my partner stated that they needed some more time to decide (they would have ordered a drink with their food, they just didn't know what food they were going to eat so didn't know which wine they wanted to pair). Then he nearly threw the drink we did order at the table while helping another table, making it unable for us to order. When he did come to our table he just made a sound, like "hm" rather than asking if we had made a choice or anything along those lines. I replied with the two antipasti we wanted to order and he looked at us angrily and then kind of berated us that "this is not a place for only ordering one drink, we needed to order something to eat." We were very confused and said that that we just ordered but he insisted that we said we didn't want to order. Then I repeated what I wanted and he just kind of said "ok well i misunderstood i put it in" without an apology or anything and left. After this we didn't really feel comforatble eating there anymore since it was kind of obvious that the guy did not misunderstand us, but he made assumptions. Besides, the waiter could have said "I'm sorry, what did you say" or something like that before berating us like he did. We flagged a different waiter and asked to cancel the order and just pay for the one drink and then the rude waiter returned and was suddenly really apologetic and tried to get us to still eat there, asking us not to be angry, but we just didn't want to pay for the overpriced food if the waiter couldn't even muster an apology before we decided that we wanted to leave. We paid for the one drink we got and left. His mistake because now we ended up taking the table for...
Read moreWent in skeptically as the reviews are very mixed, but surprisingly had a decent lunch inside!
Fortunately, the place wasn’t crowded at all at the time, around 2-3 other patrons inside, so we were seated quickly.
Now here’s where I can agree with some of the bad reviews. The waiter who led us to our table basically disappeared afterwards and didn’t seem to want to do anything at all, we were sat and weren’t given any menus for maybe a good 5 minutes.
In come the second waitress who finally gave us the menus and took our orders as well as served us our food. It was a little hard to get any help too as all of them seemed to be gone doing something else despite an empty restaurant. Though I did see more customers sitting outside, there wasn’t anyone inside at all for most of the time. The bar was left empty too.
The third waitress was the nicest, she appeared near the end of our meal and was the one who gave us the bills and everything and actually bothered to say those customer service lingos haha
Anyway! Food was actually good!? It is not the cheapest but I personally find the portions to be filling. All the pasta dishes have decent portions and meat/sauce to pasta ratio. My pizza (which was probably 30cm diameter) was just ok but I wasn’t complaining, it’s thin crust and wasn’t oily at all but still have enough toppings.
For the price, it wasn’t the most expensive we’ve encountered in our long trip in Scandinavian countries, but I do suggest to look at menu at the front and decide whether it’ll fit your budget by comparing with the...
Read moreAfter hearing that some restaurants in Sweden serve reindeer, we were on a mission! Found Sally's by accident after walking through the streets and reading sidewalk menu boards.
ATMOSPHERE: Indoor & outdoor seating. We sat outside even if we were freezing. High booths about 2' off the sidewalk. Views of the busy street and people watching.
BEVERAGE: Spendrups No wonder I loved it, they're the same makers of Heineken!
FOOD: Toast Skagen Traditional Swedish dish; buttered & toasted brioche topped with kalix bleak roe, dill oil, prawns & mayo. Very tasty.
Smoked Reindeer Super tender slices of reindeer meat with a lingonberry & red wine sauce and 1 piece of dumpling stuffed with reindeer meat and deep fried. Very good and not gamey at all. Came with a small dish of lingonberries, 1 asparagus spear, and a small white square of I think it was cheese? Sorry, it was years ago!
SERVICE: Got seated pretty quickly. Our female server was friendly. Food came out quickly.
OVERALL: Prices were average (a bit high in the area.) There is an over-whelmingly amount of restaurants in the area so its really difficult to choose. Hopefully my review will make your...
