Bishop Arms Gamla Stan — Local services in Stockholm

We went to this pub/bar/restaurant and had the feeling it was unique. The service was good and the barman helpful. We decided to stay and eat and chose what we thought to be a traditional Swedish dish…meatballs. Whilst we enjoyed the meal the portions were quite small and the potatoes were cool/cold. We now realise that there are many “Bishops Arms” across Sweden and therefore maybe we should not have had greater expectations! It was comfortable with a good atmosphere but I would not particularly recommend the food, it was okay and perfectly edible, reasonable price but...

Fruktansvärt dåligt på alla plan - bland det sämsta vi alla isällskapet upplevt ! Dålig service, dålig mat och dyrt ! Trots endast två typer av huvudrätter beställda, kom inte maten in någorlunda samtidigt...(ca 25 minuters mellanrum) Två personer fick ej beställd förrätt öht pga "miss" En av dessa två erbjöds en förrätt efter att ha ätit sin huvudrätt..! Slut på "fish & chips, vilken var en av de två rätter de sagt vid bokningen att vi kunde beställa. Man erbjöd då schnitzel alt hamburgare istället. Sex av nio som beställde schnitzel fick ej - då den var slut- vilket kanske var lika bra då de sex som kom in var planerade i pankoströbröd, inga klassiska tillbehör förutom en liten citronklyfta o två matskedar sås samt överfriterade potatisklyftor- 194 kr...! Högrevsburgare a 192 kr lika värdelösa- små, för hårt stekta och de flesta med bröd som var stenhårt. Inga tillbehör på sidan förutom för hårt friterad pommes.... Ingen idé att klaga och be om nytt då det förmodligen skulle ta två timmar till:( Ingen kom till bordet och tog beställning på dricka, förutom EN gång. Ingen frågade varken under måltiden eller efter om det smakade bra....Vi gick själva till baren och beställde. Två personer beställde Prosecco- a 95 kr/ glaset.Bartendern hällde upp 1/3 glas ur en öppnad flaska- sedan var det slut, han erbjöd då en " billig champagne" för ett ngt dyrare pris. Vilket person nr två tog- när även person ett så att hon ville byta till detta- var han på väg att hälla champagne i glaset med avslagen Prosecco !!! Hon fick efter att ha sagt nej till detta ett glas champagne men dock ca 1.4 cm mindre i glaset än person ett, vilket påpekades då båda glasen står bredvid varandra !...

Great selection of beers. They are not cheap but that is probably to cover the rent - the location is prestigeous. The place is well suited for bigger crowds but is a bit of a sausage fest. The majority of guests are not only men, but several times when I have been waiting to order at the bar they take orders from men before me. It is unprofessional and surprising that this still happens year 2018 in Stockholm.
