I really did not have a good experience. We had to wait 1 hour for our food and there were only two other tables. We did see a lot of home deliveries coming in and out. The staff disappears after your order is taken and does not ask for anything. There was one guy working with a mask on but with the nose out. Then the whole “safety” is a bit useless? Since our server did not talk to us i had to walk over to them and say that my food was to spicy (ordered not spicy). The new one i got tasted just like they added a whole load of cream. The whole spinach taste was gone. Then when we complained about the whole experience the owner came (also because they put 2 naan on the bill, we just ordered one). He started a whole discussion about that we should have seen that there were two portions (is he serious?). Then i said well the food was also not good and we waited an hour. He explained that its normal to wait long for butter chicken (ordered by my boyfriend) and that he was full the day before and even though people wait long they enjoy it (not my problem or my life). Whole story about guest is king (he made me feel super uncomfortable). I asked 5 times to just leave it (he kept talking about himself). In total, very expensive, long waiting, not good experience. Please in these corona times treat your guest like you say “as kings”. Going to a restaurant should be a nice and happy and...
Read moreThe owner is very friendly and welcoming. The staff (from Goa and Punjab) is ok, they keep staring at you while you eat your food. The food quality in all honesty is below par. I can understand that this restaurant is located in Basel and probably the competition is lower, but that doesn't mean that any quality of food will do. I had a vegetarian meal at this place. The dal was tasteless, the naan were dry, the subzi was just a mix of vegetables with no touch of class. I went there for only once and will never go there again. I have been to other Indian restaurants in Europe, and in comparison this one pales. Maybe in Basel people haven't had taste of real Indian food and that's why people flock here. If you are craving for Indian food and don't know where to go, then you can go here. Otherwise this is a pathetic place in all honesty. I repeat myself: the owner is very friendly and welcoming, but unfortunately his good, affable nature does not make up for the poor...
Read moreI am a Scientist, therefore, I was here again as my colleagues arranged lunch and dinner here. This time before X'mas eve.
I am a foodie and a food blogger too. The best Vegetarian dishes are Baingan ka Bhartha; malai Kofta Kesari; Royal Shahi Paneer. They are specialzed for non-veg dishes of Chicken Tikka Masala; Murg Badami Korma; Malai Chicken Kebab; Tandoori Chicken Tikka. I savored all these. The bread (garlic Naan and Peshawari Naan) are the best. Guys, please do not forget to order their Mango Lassi. They have an exclusive taste, that I could not find at other places serving Indian food.
This is the best restaurant serving Indian food in Basel.
I am amazed to see the X'mas decoration at the restaurant, specially the X'mas trees.
I can only say that it is a place for all travelers to Basel who would like to have authentic...
