Test dinner April 23 / group reservation for 18 Persons May 23: Real bad experience!

A I invited three friends to test the location Restaurant Dampfzentrale for a planned meeting. (dinner/group of 18 persons/professional context) The four complete menus were o.k., but not extraordinary. Price-performance ratio is not balanced. We had aperitifs, wine, first and second plate, dessert- they did even charge the tap water. B One week later Restaurant Dampfzentrale did contact me to inform us about an accounting error. (As a group reservation was planned on my name, they disposed of our phone number) Obviously, they undercharged our consumption. Did agree to pass by personally to pay the difference of 100.- (resp. 87.- without tip). The responsible lady was able to take the money without any pardon: neither an excuse nor an offered beverage while I was waiting for her. No "Thank you" at all for the extra-way! Nevertheless, I left our group reservation for the next month as it was planned. C Not enough problems with Restaurant Dampfzentrale The day of our meeting, cool and rainy forecast. The restaurant did contact us four (!) hours before our meeting with 18 Persons, that the table in the inner part of the Restaurant- reserved weeks in advance- would not anymore be available! But they could offer our group a table in the garden. In consideration of the bad weather I did not accept this new "fact". Demanded an acceptable solution, our table in the inner part of the Location. The restaurant did not call me back for 2 hours (or did dial the wrong number). Wetter war perfekt und die Location ist ein Traum. Auch die Begrüssung war herzlich und die bestellten Gerichte kamen sehr schnell - etwas zu schnell für unseren Geschmack. Der Kellner vermittelte von Anfang an das Gefühl im Stress zu sein. Wir haben bei der Reservierung erwähnt, dass wir unseren Jahrestag feiern und haben uns auf einen gemütlichen Abend zu zweit gefreut. Wir wurden lieblos abgefertigt. Zudem gab es auch unbequeme Sprachbarrieren welche die Verständigung erschwert haben. Als wir wissen wollten ob im Couscous Rosinen drin sind, meinte der Kellner (Selvam): "ich glaube". Meine Partnerin hat daher verzichtet das Gericht zu bestellen. Ich hingegen habe kein Problem mit Rosinen und habe den Couscous als Vorspeise bestellt. Beim bestellen hat der Kellner angemerkt, dass wir ja dann sehen obs Rosinen hat, anstatt kurz nachzufragen. Wir hatten auch vor, nach dem Apéritif, eine Flasche Rosé zu bestellen. Da der Kellner so kurz angebunden war, haben wir nur jeweils ein Glas direkt vor dem Hauptgang bestellt bei der Kellnerin, die uns die Teller gebracht hat. Der Kellner Selvam hat uns erst als wir mit dem Hauptgang fertig waren, den Wein gebracht. In der kurzen Zeit zwischen 20 und 21 Uhr sind noch viele weitere Situationen entstanden welche unsere Geduld gefordert haben, daher haben wir auf Dessert, Kaffee und Digestiv verzichtet und haben die Rechnung verlangt. Ich habe dem Kellner offen, konstruktiv und transparent meinen Missmut mitgeteilt. Bereits vorher war allen Beteiligten bewusst, dass der Abend problematisch war. Vor einer Entschuldigung wurde die Verantwortung auf die Kollegen abgewälzt, was mich besonders irritiert hat, auch weil alle Kollegen einen deutlich professionelleren Eindruck bei uns hinterlassen haben. Der Kellner hat darauf bestanden uns die 2 Rosés zu offerieren und wir sollen doch trotzdem wieder kommen. Grundsätzlich würden wir gerne wieder kommen, da wir im Quartier wohnen und uns der Ort gut gefällt. Ob wir das machen werden, kann ich aktuell nicht sagen. Um den Abend zu "retten" sind wir in die Berner Altstadt gegangen wo wir im Restaurant Capitol einen grossartigen baskischen Cheesecake und einen fantastischen Cocktail genossen haben - ein...
