A hidden gem in Bern – pure gold. Everything about this place was outstanding: the service, the atmosphere, the food – all of it.
If you’re not a local, you might think it’s a bit tucked away, but honestly, it’s super easy to find. I highly recommend dining outside; they have little cabins that look like cable cars. And don’t worry about the cold – they’ve got heaters inside the cabins to keep you cozy.
The service is warm and attentive – they make sure you’re always taken care of. The menus are only in German, but the staff speaks English, so ordering is a breeze. Plus, there aren’t too many options, which makes it even simpler.
The sides for the cheese are fantastic – great flavor and just the right portions. Pick what you love most! And as everyone knows, cheese goes well with absolutely everything.

Read moreAbsolutely phenomenal!! Had no idea when booking that you could eat your fondue in your own private CHEESE GONDOLA from repurposed 1970s ski cable cars! The cheese was phenomenal - you can choose between normal or truffle - the boyfriend and I couldn't agree on one so naturally we ordered both. It came with bread, potatoes and baby pickles and onions - so would also recommend getting a charcuterie meat board! Service was excellent, easily a 10/10, and our waiter was friendly without being too attentive and we were always well taken care of. You can get here on the funicular if you don't fancy the big walk down/uphill from city centre. It was a really nice and quite unique experience. The gondolas were amazing. They are so warm and cozy and you can also do temperature control by closing and opening the...
Read moreI recently visited this restaurant, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The atmosphere was very nice, creating a warm and welcoming ambiance. The surroundings and scenery added to the charm, making it a delightful place to dine.
The service was satisfactory but not outstanding, earning a solid 4 out of 5. Everything was handled efficiently, but nothing particularly stood out.
One minor downside was the limited selection of wines on the menu, which could use some improvement. However, the food was very good, deserving a solid 4 out of 5 stars. It didn’t quite reach the level of excellence for a perfect score, but it was still highly enjoyable.
All in all, I would recommend this restaurant for its lovely setting, good food, and decent service, even if there's some room for improvement in the...
