Ristorante Cantinone — Restaurant in Circolo di Lugano ovest

We’ve been visiting this restaurant several times per year, service was never particularly friendly, nobody ever smiles to you, but today we were really disappointed with the service. First, we booked a table long time in advance online because we wanted to celebrate my daughter’s birthday there, nobody answered the email, we had to confirm it on the phone. When we arrived, we couldn’t be accommodated in the beginning, nothing was prepared for us. The restaurant is also not very kid-friendly, we were not offered high chairs for the small kids to say nothing about something to draw on or any special gesture for the birthday kid. They were seriously understaffed that evening, two people working on the whole floor. We had to wait very long for our food, we had to approach the staff to bring us drinks, dessert menu, take our order, basically nothing happened on its own. I've worked in a few restaurants throughout my life and this restaurant offers one of the best services I have ever experienced!

The waiters works hard and on a fast pace but never forget to smile! They all wear masks but they can smile with the eyes.

The food is absolutely delicious. Me and my friend ate there 3 days in a row because we loved the first time so much. Every single dish was amazing.

For me, the best place to eat in Lugano!

Fantastic food! I ordered a vegetarian calzone (Verdure Calzone) and it was amazing! The bread was great, the cheese inside was delicious and the vegetables like cucumber, tomato, aubergine, were fantastic. Very Italian meal, and amazing delicious. They also gave us a cup of parmesan cheese as a condiment. This was also amazing. This place is truly a hidden gem and should definitely be visited for anyone looking for authentic Italian food.
