Ristorante Commercianti — Restaurant in Circolo di Lugano ovest

This is a great restaurant that we came to before and had a good service. However, you don’t always get that deal. We don’t take any food with wine and had good fish portions done in the past where the waitress took the order and the chef did a personalized service of having our fish cooked in a separate pan and with no wine, which was great.

This time, we had a waitress that was nice but seemed unwilling to help or accommodate for any requests. We asked for fish without wine- said not possible sorry! Then after asking a few times, he said could do grilled. We said good but is the grill separate from meat and chicken he said no the same. Said can the chef do on a separate pan or as baked and he said sorry not possible . We asked if he could ask the chef he said it’s too busy not possible. Then we had to leave and found a better (also cheaper) alternative.

Sorry, great restaurant but poor service. Work...

We had to wait for the waiter for more than 30 minutes. We tried to stop other waiters but they only answered that they cannot take the order and we kept waiting. We asked for still water (it's 6 CHF btw) but we got sparkling. We ordered a caprese salad with fresh basil but we got it with salad leaves instead. If they run out of basil or any other ingredient or want to replace it, at least they should mention it. We waited another 40 minutes for pizza that we shared and we didn't get individual plates, we couldn't catch the waiter to ask for it. In the end we waited for ages for a bill and even longer to pay so we were about to lose our train. Food was okay but service way...

Waited less than 10 minutes for a table on a Saturday night around 7:00pm. This restaurant is just beyond some of the more touristy spots situated closer to the lake. Our server, Monica, was helpful and friendly. Food was delicious and was served pretty quickly after ordering, even with a full house. We ordered the bruschetta, carbonara, and the Bianca pizza (white pizza with fresh ricotta, spinach, and truffle oil). Husband had a local beer and I had the ginger spritz, followed by a fruit Hugo spritz. Everything was very reasonably priced and we walked away spending less than CF 100.
