The Hamburger Foundation - Plainpalais — Restaurant in Geneva

I used to be a regular visitor of the place (Paquis), and just went back today after Geneva lockdowns, one of the waitress informed me of the changes. New management. Now you need to order at the desk, like on a kebab. You don’t get any longer plates but the burgers wrapped a la McDonald’s (they claim recycled paper), there used to be menus now there are no longer available, but you can order on many other options, at the end of the day more expensive if you still want to enjoy a salad. They didn’t had enough home made limonade, and you need pick by yourself the dressings ( mayo, ketchup, etc). I understand during covid period adjustment where needed, however the new management doesn’t seem to have any interest in customer service. The burger was just ok, I asked bloody and it was medium, and had the impression the bread changed, but can’t be sure on this. At the end of the day the one paying the price was me by having a Mehh! Experience, the waitress bc I left no tip as the only service from her was bringing the burger from the kitchen to the table, and 3rd the hamburger foundation because I’m not going back! I trust this helps new management to improve their service again. Their will remember this review if they don’t as their business is dimmed to decline....

I have been to this THF for a few years and the food is still as good as always. The fries are excellent and the burger is juicy and tasty. A very friendly and helpful staff, combined with a nice warm atmosphere makes coming to this restaurant a very enjoyable experience.

Most importanly, they recently released a student menu which includes a normal cheeseburger (or the vegan option) with fries and a drink of your choice for only ✨️15 CHF✨️, which is a great price considering the normal prices for the burgers and fries.

So with this new menu and a nice atmosphere perfect for students, I can only recommend you to try restaurant for a night-out (or lunch) with...

Horrible quality of the food. I have ordered a cheeseburger and a portion of fries, and I can hardly remember to be so unsatisfied with something so simple as a burger. If it was wrapped into a McDonald's package, I would have believed 100% that this was coming from there. The pale defrost fries are just a handful and cost 7 franks, an unjustifiable prize even for Geneva. The meat was fat and all in all fast food junk. I see no reason...
