Geneva is often quiet on Sundays, making it the perfect place for a peaceful visit. I love starting my day with a coffee at one of the many cafés before heading to the market. It’s a great spot to find seasonal vegetables that are hard to come by in regular supermarkets, and at great prices too. You’ll also discover stalls selling olives, mushrooms, flowers, fish, meat, and cheese bread etc . If you walk toward the far end, you’ll even find some delicious food stalls to explore.

🇨🇭 It's a nice Saturday market, has mainly antiques ,paintings, stamps, collectables, accessories, etc... No food stands on this day. On Sundays, it becomes a food market! The public bathroom is a nightmare. Make sure to do your business before arriving or when having something to eat or drink around the area! In December, a Luna Park is assembled, and it is really nice! Check @a_swiss_life on Instagram for a video!

Marchés aux Puces (Flea markets) are one of the joys of Europe, and this is one of the best. Of course there's lots of rubbish, but the joy lies in patience, a slow stroll, a vigilant eye and a little imagination. It also requires discernment and self-discipline. Still, to date I've acquired a Villeroy et Boch hand painted teapot (around 1960's), a Christofle silver and cut crystal cocktail shaker, 6 KPM side plates hand painted with violets and dated 1948 and a lovely Pott Solingen silver plated cutlery service. All absurdly cheaply. Oh and today's whimsy, a morse key on a mahogany foot plate for the grand sum of CHF3! And the exercise and fresh air is good...
