eh. I wanted to like this place, wanted to love it, have been waiting for good comida for too long, but i just couldn't.
first, the deco is a bit offensive, tbh. a few sombreros and parrots hanging up and thats it. but really, it could been empty if the food was delicious.
the cocktails, were, ok. great? ok. the margarita was very very small and a bit tart. but fine. expensive for the size and quality, but its lausanne, so fine.
what got me the most was the food. guac and chips, literally a spoon and a half of guac with about 15 chips for 10chfs? crazy. guac was fine.
the tacos were literally battered fish- like fish and chips fish with some repollo and a squeeze of some white cream. not queso or natilla but i think mayo? it was a weird, not bad, but not a fish taco- but a english battered fishstick wrapped in a small tortilla. no guac on it, no salsa on it, no veggies on it. in any case, thats it. if you wanted salsa, you have to PAY EXTRA, which is outrageous. it is completely ridiculous to serve tacos without any pico de gallo or salsa or anything. and to pay extra after paying almost 30chf for three dry tacos? i have to say this broke my heart a bit. tacos are a sacred thing and this was not in the taco spirit. i didnt get that warm, generous feeling that tacos, especially in a nice sit down place, should give. in any case, very expensive for good quality misses.
the servers were very nice and the atmosphere was good. but i left with a feeling of deception, like- i paid that much for that meal. and in lausanne you expect to pay, i saw the prices- id pay for something worth it (lausanne standards) but it tell you about a place when basic ingredients of your meal are extras. no joke the next day went to a taco rico chain and paid 20% of that and had a more authentic and generously juicy taco. will i go back? maybe when they get into the spirit of it and get real...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at La Parada, and it was truly a wonderful experience. I’m Colombian and was really looking forward to this restaurant opening, and I have time to say I am absolutely impressed!
The Latin American cuisine was amazing - the tacos were to die for! The ambiance was fun and the decoration was great, giving the restaurant an authentic feel. I highly recommend La Parada to anyone looking for a unique and delicious dining experience.
We went as a group and tried many different dishes. The ceviche was another favorite, and the starters were all delicious. The drinks were really good too, specially the margaritas. The staff was so nice and friendly - always with a smile.
Honestly; the music, the smiles, the great food and drinks and the ambiance transported me back to latin America. What a fun evening!
We had a really good time and I look forward to...
Read moreWe went there with my friends for a coffee early in the afternoon and we didn't try the food. The atmosphere is excellent. The place is very well-decorated. The staff was more or less polite but it took them some time to take our order (which is oddly normal in Switzerland). We ordered hot chocolate, which was the typical mug with milk where we had to pour and mix the ovomaltine powder. Ok, very basic, but still this is how they do it here. But the hot chocolate was served with almost cold milk. We ordered homemade lemonade with ginger, too. It was nothing special and the taste of ginger didn't exist. Since the atmosphere was so good I would try once more, this time the restaurant and it might give me a better opinion. Don't go there for a...
