Nandanam — Restaurant in Lausanne

our waiter (skinny, european man with grey hair and glasses) provided us with the worst service we have experienced in switzerland. he was rude and condescending from the moment we stepped foot into the restaurant. it was our first time patronising the place and he got frustrated that we didn't immediately understand his desire for us to enter the restaurant through an adjacent entryway into the terrace and got snappy when he realised he had to communicate to us in english instead of french.

when we asked politely for a food menu he responded passive aggressively as if we were asking something hugely unreasonable of him. he then informed us impatiently that the kitchen would be closing soon and we only had two minutes to decide what to eat. when we asked for the bill at the end of the meal, he dramatically tossed an empty coin dish passive aggressively on the table. the entire experience was uncomfortable and almost comical. the other staff we interacted with were nothing but warm and lovely, which made his behaviour all the more bizarre.

bad service aside, the calamari starter we had was delightful. the lamb curry was also above average although the small dishes that came along with it (daal, spiced rice etc) were...

2,5 out of 5 but ok 3! Good food delicious 🥘🍛but very small amount better to be little more generous specially in rice amount menu has just few items not so much choices. Butter chicken is good , veggie dish also very good . Tried Golab jamoun also good a bit different Dow again tiny bit served ,only two balls 🥲 The place is very tight, don’t expect a huge restaurent also floor was not so clean and under the tables were so dirty 🧹🫧 No open window , not opened door first entered heavy smelled breath of crowd, no fresh air in entire restaurent that made breathing difficult ! Staff were friendly and typical serious French ! The funny thing was restaurent owner was waitering as well 😂 in total lt was good but I would take away next time By the way expect over 40 CHF per person 💸💰expensive overall Decoration was soooo old styled your grandma remembers all the statues and tiny symbols in old...

I saw the NANDANAM 🇮🇳♥️ restaurant from the street and decided to stop and eat inside. I was received by a very rude blond waiter🤦🏼‍♀️ and a very nice dark-skinned waiter ☺️ so I decided to stay and taste the cuisine. I ordered a Vegetarian Thali 🥗🍛🍱 and a Lassi 🍹(my favorite Indian yogurt and mango drink). 🥰 When my dish arrived the presentation was very beautiful, full of colors and with some flowers in a copper tray (you can see it from the photos). 🏆 Traditional taste, contrast of flavors and colors, a little spicy, the palate really rejoiced. 🏆🏆 Superb naan bread. 🍹🏆Homemade Lassi. 💵 Price in the norm for the Swiss market $$. 🏆🇮🇳Truly exceptional quality and taste. 👳👳👳Very nice staff, apart from the blond waiter 🤦🏼‍♀️ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I can only recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves Indian cuisine or wants to discover it for the first time. ...
