We had breakfast at this wonderful local bakery during our stay except for Sunday (they are close on Sundays).

It is a few minutes from the hostel. They have a wide array of inviting pastries, sandwiches breads and cakes. They also have some muesli and salad. Coffee is as it should be - strong and smooth. Their cheese quiche was my absolute favorite out of everything I tried. Staff is warm and friendly.

Their prices are pretty reasonable for Switzerland.

They give you the option to sit inside or outside. They maintain both inside and outside well so it’s really up to you. As for us, we couldn’t resist the idea of sipping our coffees and enjoying our quiches with the amazing backdrop all around us.

I wish we have a great bakery such as Steininger in our town. I couldn’t recommend...

Had a chestnut cake, and it was both excellent and awful: the upper layers have good combinations of flavors and texture, and I believe it contains some alcohol (presumably rum?); but at the same time the bottommost layer I think was burnt and dry.
