Barracuda Cafe & Bar — Restaurant in Matten bei Interlaken

Great people, great drinks, great food, and overall great vibe. If you come to Interlaken and want to find out the best things to do, best places to see, or even the other good places to eat & drink at then Barracuda should be your first stop. Carl and Jakey Boi know everyone and will not only point you in the right direction, they’ll call the owners of all the cool places/experiences to put you in touch with them (and most of the time those people also hang out in Barracuda- that’s how cool it is).

Carl makes a mean margarita and freelances as an excellent life coach if you find yourself in need of life advice. Jakey Boi is the sweetest peach who wants to make sure everyone is safe and having fun and has unparalleled patience, so if you’re travelling alone or unsure of the area he’s got your back.

Definitely check this place out!

Besides the cozy, inviting, lively and yet intimate atmosphere of the bar itself, I had the best service, banter and rapport with the owners/bartenders and the locals, leading to friendships and great memories. Jake and Carl are fun people, and quite the entertainers - they didn't have to try hard to keep the place going. In addition to the fun banter and the lovely cocktails you'd get to try (food is great too - tried a warm wrap), if you're lucky, you might just get a bouquet of mint leaves in an empty JD bottle from Jake, while Carl would let you queue your favourite metal/rock songs (might also agree to play some cool licks on his electric guitar if asked nicely). A long over due 5 star review of the best bar in Interlaken. We stayed at the hostile across the street this summer and after each days activities ended the night (and started the morning) at Barracuda. Carl and Jake were a great time and made us feel right at home. They gave us recommendations for things to do and a whole lot of life advice. The bar itself is cozy and has a good vibe with a ton of great drink options. There always seems to be some characters around but balanced with some really great people it makes for a very fun night.
