The most disappointing dining experiences during our entire trip. On our last day of our honeymoon, we decided to have a meal here — but everything from the service to the food quality was extremely disappointing.

We clearly told the female staff several times that we wanted to dine in, and even confirmed at payment when I asked, “It’s for here, right?” and she replied, “Yes, for here"

However, our order was later served in takeaway boxes. The pizza came out burnt, the pasta was overcooked and soggy, and the guanciale was also burnt.

When we raised this issue, the response from the staff was unhelpful, and we felt dismissed instead of being assisted. It was frustrating, especially considering it was the last day of our honeymoon.

To check whether it was just a cooking style difference of Montreux, we ordered the same menu at another restaurant afterward (right after we left the restaurant) — and there, the pasta was cooked just the way we normally know it — firm and not soggy. and also the guanciale wasn’t burnt at all.

This experience made it clear that the problem was specific to this restaurant.

La Fontaine is a true Montreux gem. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with the perfect balance between elegance and comfort. The pizzas are outstanding – beautifully prepared, full of flavor, and presented with care. Each dish feels authentic, made with fresh ingredients and real attention to detail.

The service is just as impressive: friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about making guests feel at home. And there’s something almost surreal about sitting on the terrace and watching so many people come to fill their bottles at the fountain just next door – a unique little scene that adds to the charm of the place.

Je suis passé devant puis en voyant les avis je me suis dit de tenter. Effectivement les pizzas sont excellentes. Aucun problème de digestion alors que c est rarement le cas. Le service très très bien. La serveuse très gentille et attentionnée, et qui regarde droit dans les yeux (on ne se sent pas être un « chiffre ». Dynamique, toujours entrain d’organiser et nettoyer. Merveilleuse professionnelle et jolie en plus 🤭.

Ambiance cave ancienne chaleureuse, petite mais très sympa. Le seul « hic » sont les cartons à pizza à même le sol. Le patron ?/ pizzaiolo m a répondu que c était petit et qu il n utilisait jamais le carton au sol, blabla, sur la défensive….les excuses…la mauvaise attitude. 3cm d un petit support en bois suffisent. Ou autres optimisations comme un passe plat modulable sur la porte de la cuisine…mais bon. Je n ai ouvert que plus de 10 pizzerias en suisse et géré prêt de 300 employés au quotidien, ai traité avec les inspecteurs de l hygiène etc…je n y connais rien après tout !

Il faudra donc attendre un problème ou une amende de l’inspection pour faire le changement, ce qui est dommage car tout le reste était excellent ! Toujours navrant de voir à quel point les occidentaux sont en général coincés dans leurs comportements et sur la défensive, même quand on dit les choses gentiment et avec réserve. Mais bon, c est tout une histoire.

Enfin, et c est anecdotique mais je mettrais plus de tisanes et boissons sans sucres et sans alcool de qualité. Jus de tomate, infusions bio. Ce sont des détails mais pour les personnes comme moi qui ne évitent sucre et alcool, c est toujours navrant de tomber sur du Twiling.

Donc pour résumer: allez y sans autre, les pizzas sont excellentes et le service de qualité. La plupart des clients ne verront pas ce que j ai vu, mais je l écris ici afin d inviter la direction à améliorer leur concept. Merci...
