Yesterday my wife and I celebrated the first day of our 22nd year in Europe. We wanted to enjoy a French dinner at the hotel’s restaurant Safran, but we were caught off guard by a few unexpected questions from the waiter. Before we could communicate effectively, they just showed us a menu on the bar at the door and rudely told us that there was no table for us. My first reaction was to leave this restaurant asap, even though they have many tables for us to choose from. At breakfast this morning, my wife and I chose to sit on the terrace for dinner. It took a long time for the waiter to set up the table for us, and asked us to wear masks when entering the indoor restaurant. But soon the people at the table next to us came into without mask, and he even talked with the waiter. It is incredible. I think your service concept has a fundamental problem, and the basic training for waiters is not in place. I hope you can pay attention to it. For this reason, I will never go to your restaurant again, and I will never recommend anyone...

We were exploring Montreux together and decided to eat here, as it has beautiful views, nice presentation and it was still open. My Mother is a Swiss local who has eaten at many good local restaurants. The burger I had was one of the nicest burgers I’ve had to this day—my girlfriend also loved it. Everyone enjoyed their food which was delicious, not overly large, but filling. The wines were delicious and the desserts are amazing too. I had the chocolate dessert with mousse (chocolate and vanilla) inside—and I got one for my mother as well. We all loved the food, and the waiter Hamdi contributed to a great experience and was patient with us deciding what we wanted together. Even the bread with hummus for the “entree” was quite tasty. We passed our commendation to the chef Antonio, as the burger was especially delicious. My partner was supposed to take a bite and insisted on stealing my food. Read moreService is never disappointing or faltering even in the most busy of days. All the staff are kind and happy to help all the time. Staff are friendly and easy to make conversation.
I would love to mention Miss Silvia who greets me with a hug and smile every single time, and has even helped me make phone calls on my behalf as my French speaking level isn’t well. Particularly when she has helped get me in contact with a dentist without anything in return. I would also love to mention Miss Iryna who always makes time to greet me with a smile and make small friendly talk with me despite her workload. She knows how to get things done in a busy crowd like the hotel breakfast buffet. And a final mention to Miss Tatiana for persisting through multiple breakfast orders a day with the demand of all the guests crowding around her for orders. And she manages to keep track of my order amongst many as well as all the other guests.
Visiting Mona hotel feels like visiting family friends and I can feel the closeness of the staff between each other as well...
