45 Grill & Health — Restaurant in Montreux

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Grand Hotel Suisse Majestic, and as part of that stay, we had both dinner and breakfast at 45 Grill & Health. Our time spent at 45 Grill & Health was a food highlight on our week-long trip to Switzerland, and it was a truly wonderful experience.

For dinner, we opted to dine on the terrace, overlooking the mesmerizing Lake Geneva with the Alps in the background. As it was a warm night, we were able to enjoy the full meal outdoors, while watching the sunset, it was truly magical. François was our waiter and looked after us for the evening; his service was impeccable and he was both friendly and efficient. We had cocktails to start, which were fabulous, followed by a beautiful bottle of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, which I would highly recommend.

The food at 45 Grill & Health is simply outstanding. The menu features a variety of grilled meats, seafood, and vegetarian dishes. I started with the stunning duo of steak tartare, which was beautifully seasoned. For my main course, I had a huge grilled duck breast with a variety of sides. The duck was moist and flavorful, and all the accompanying vegetables were also cooked perfectly. We also had a cheese board which was filled with amazing local cheeses, before finishing with dessert. The dessert for me was a highlight - pure chocolate indulgence!

Breakfast at 45 Grill & Health was just as good. There was a huge selection of hot dishes, as well as a vast selection of continental meats, cheeses, cereals, and bakery items. A glass of bubbles and enjoying breakfast on their terrace really does make it a memorable start to the day!

Overall, I had a wonderful dining experience at 45 Grill & Health. The food was outstanding, the service was excellent, and the setting was simply incredible. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience...

Poor mannerism and horrendous customer service. The main issue is with the manager who refused to give us his name, but his middle name/fake name is Gwenldone. He refused to seat us at the area we previously reserved and specified on the porch and insisted that we didn’t show up early enough for a table on the porch, although there were 3 vacant tables available without anyone occupying them and we showed up 30 minutes early. He insisted that he was right and acted in the most childish and arrogant of ways, completely disrespecting us with degrading behaviour. He said and I quote, “I make decision where you’re seated” and that it’s not up to us. We suspect that he was racially discriminating against us because of our visible religious attire and ethnic background. He was pleasant to everyone else except us, despite us being extremely calm and courteous. I used to be a regular customer and came at least once a month to taste their steak tartare which was excellent. They used to serve us fresh bread with homemade butter and tasty olive oil as a starter no matter what you took and the service was always great and pleasant.

Unfortunately, I stopped going there as I saw month after month that the service and the quality was getting worse and worse as time went by.

I went there again yesterday and I was even more disappointed in seeing they increased their prices drastically and changed their menu for the worse. Now most dishes cost around 50-60 francs and you don't have a regular dish and end up having to order meat, salad, french fries separately. They forgot to bring me butter and have to ask 3 times and I found the staff arrogant and unfriendly. Furthermore, the dish presentation is horrible now and you don't even dare to show it on social media.
