Worst hotel I’ve ever experienced. Book at your own risk and pray nothing goes wrong during your stay, as you are on your own. We were given a dilapidated room on the first floor. Apparently other rooms have been renovated and we were unlucky. Just seriously gross— stained carpet flooring, first floor looking over an alley with workers constantly taking smoke breaks, hardly big enough to open our suitcases. I finally decided to speak to reception about the situation, as we could see online there were upgraded rooms available and we were more than willing to pay. No one was at reception though, there is just a sign saying they are at the restaurant with a number to call. I was unable to get through on my cellphone (of course there is no phone in the room) so I head down to the restaurant. After finally getting someone’s attention, I ask if there is someone available for the hotel reception. I’m told no, no one is available right now. I ask if the right person is in the restaurant, and the man I’m speaking to says yes, I am, but not right now. And that’s it— at this point I’m exasperated and head back upstairs, consider booking another hotel but it’s late enough that we just decide to pretend like we are back in our hostel days for the night and get out first thing in the morning. The single nice thing I can say is that the woman who checked us in was extremely friendly. All downhill from there.

There are many good things about this hotel... Overall it was extremely clean, it was quiet, close to the train station and not too far for taxis. Good selection of eateries around. The restaurant is really lovely and the included breakfast was delicious. But unfortunately it gets a lower review due to... A garbage smell coming from the back of the restaurants, the view which is rather unpleasant, the design of the rooms, the staff which although is pleasant don't go out of their way to be pleasant or helpful, and mostly because of the beds... I have a feeling, given how clean the rest of the room was, that this was a fluke but it cannot be ignored... The sheets had stains and hairs. I ended up sleeping on towels over the blankets and checking out early.

This hotel is definitely value for your money - it is close to the city center, the rooms are charming although they dont have a nice view of St. Moritz lake, the free breakfast that comes with it was perfect (they served an engandine walnut pie 😍👍) and lastly, the pizzeria that opens at night serves good food. The dough of their pizza was amazing - it is thin but doesnt get soggy with all the toppings! Plus, the serving size is large enough for two people!

So, let’s start with and explanation. The hotel is really well located. The building with the reception seem to be a cheap flat building, but that is not the problem. At first, we were greeted by a lovely lady, but her english was not the best, so we had problems understanding where the parking lot is and not to talk about ski passes. A reservation for their restaurant was out of the question. I guess we were lucky as other people just came in and had to call different google numbers just to get ahold of someone at the front desk.

Getting to the ski room I soon realised that it is basicaly a “kinda” heated space in between buildings, with a door leading to the main street which is not locked. Also on the floor there is pavement.

Second day, her coleague was much nicer and explained that we can “rent” a skipass for a flat rate and what is included in it.

Third day it gets nicer. They tell me that there is some bad news and that somebody hit my car in the parking lot. Oh well, I thought it is one of the hotel’s guests. But no, that is how I’ve learned that the parking lot is shared with the neighbours. And that was about it with their help regarding the issue. When I asked for a refund for the garage, the front desk lady was very kind and said she will take it up with the manager. Fair enough. And I don’t mind that he refused; the problem is how he did it: by letting me wait for 5 minutes while he was explaining something to a coleague and then when I asked about an update the reply was “the update is that there is no bank recharge.” Took me a while to understand what that means, but yeah.

Ok. So the room; that was the good part :) not much to say about that, all was in good shape.

Ah yeah, and don’t park in outdoor place #4. It blocks the exit from “the ski room” and I have personally seen people trashing their skis on the cars there.

So, all and all, not a very St...

Overall, happy with this stay. Check in was easy, restaurant staff were awesome, location was great, and best of all were the transportation cards that we got. We used them to get up both mountains to restaurants located at the very top. Beautiful, enjoyable, and a big value add. Rooms were clean.

The only thing I take issue with is being asked to pay extra for breakfast. I paid another 60 CHF at the front desk for my wife and I to have breakfast twice… only to realize later that breakfast was included? It was confusing going to breakfast to realize that you didn’t need to pay, then opening up google maps to read the description of the hotel listing breakfast as included, but I just gave them a bunch of money. It makes you feel like you have been scammed. I don’t think that is the intention, but literally… I felt scammed. I would have rather had my booking app list the property at a higher cost and not have gone through that experience. If I didn’t pay for breakfast at check in, we still could have got breakfast, because it’s included. That doesn’t feel right either. This whole situation should be eliminated. If I came back I wouldn’t “pay extra” at the hotel for breakfast.

Also, pizza restaurant is good. I really liked the food...
