What began as a simple shop has transformed into a must-visit dining destination, driven by the owners’ incredible dedication and remarkable talent.

The Food The highlight of our evening was undoubtedly the 3 tomato pasta - a dish so spectacular it defies description. Each bite was a testament to their culinary expertise, blending flavors with remarkable precision and love.

The Story Hearing the owners, Maurizio & Chicca, share their restaurant’s origin was as delightful as the meal itself. Their tireless commitment and passion shine through in every detail, from the carefully prepared dishes to the warm, welcoming atmosphere.

Top of the Food needs to be top of your list when you’re in St Moritz. As soon as you walk through the front doors of the restaurant you are welcomed and seated as though you’re an old friend coming over for dinner. It was hands down the best meal we ate on our trip and this includes the Michelin star restaurants we dined at. My only regret is that we found it at the end of the trip and only had one meal here. There is no set menu but the meal starts with appetizers and anti-pasta, some of the best meats and cheese you will ever have! We then had a few options for pasta and then an amazing desert course. Every single bite of food was incredible. We ended up staying long after the meal was done to chat with the incredible owners about how they forayed from the world of film making to the restaurant business. We bought cheese and pasta to bring back to the US with us and left St Moritz with full hearts and full bellies. What a unique experience! Kika and Maurizio were such fantastic hosts making us feel as if we got invited to their house and ate in their living room. They told us the story and the concept of top of the food which is so lovely. This place is a mix between restaurant and Italian specialty food store. Whatever you can buy in there, Maurizio is using to cook which gives you the opportunity to taste the goods before buying them. We had as an apero some charcuterie with meat and cheese as well as some other small bites. The main courses change very often keeping it interesting. While waiting for the food to be cooked, you see Maurizio picking ingredients from the shelves and you can enjoy some of the art they have set up. We had fantastic pasta with intense flavours cooked to the point. We left very happy with a full belly and pasta, parmigiano, olive oil and some more pasta to take home.
