Wow, just wow. I meandered spontaneously into this gem of a place as a solo traveler. Our tour guide had recommended 2 other places, but I know from experience that their suggestions are typically limited to pre-negotiated arrangements with the owners and/or locations that can accommodate larger groups. As a policy, I always look for my own spots.
I found this pasta place based on its high ratings, grateful it was open out of season. It is small, so it cannot accommodate very large groups, but it is an exquisitely charming spot. The atmosphere is outstanding: Swiss vibes all the way and killer music (think We’re Together by Jack Johnson and Downtown by Petula Clark).
In the spirit of any place who wants to master its food, they do not have 1 million options on the menu. I got the Bruschetta (their house specialty) as an appetizer, and their Fresh Pasta (Meat) option of the day which came with a sage pesto sauce and crisp bacon. My photos do not capture the depth and comfort dimensions of the flavors, but I tried! Pasta is meant to be warm and cozy and filling, and this delivered. Balanced by the delicate flavors of sage, extra-virgin olive oil, and freshly grated cheese.
I rarely finish my meals and asked for the rest to go, which did not seem to bother them one bit. The service was excellent. (Even the bathroom was cute, could not help but take a picture...
Read moreLa Scarpetta is truly a wonderful dining experience. I've had the opportunity to go a few times and the service and food never ceases to amaze me. With handmade pasta hanging in the windows to draw you in, past the bar, the restaurant is small, cozy and welcoming. Rare or special wine bottles surround the exterior of the room, large wood tables in the main area (with a smaller more intimate setting up a few steps of stairs).
Day over day they make two unique pastas so you can guarantee you'll always have the chance to try something new. My personal favourite dish is the bruschetta with stracciatella (similar to burrata) with sweet pickled red onions. Which would be true until dessert, the tiramisu is divine, and luckily comes with a generous portion.
The wine list is thoughtfully curated, offering an diverse and deep selection to be enjoyed. With a knowledgeable staff, if you ever have questions or want to try something new, they are unbelievably helpful. The wine list is truly impressive and would amaze experienced wine lovers.
And more on the staff, everyone is really so friendly. The owners are kind and warm making you feel like you've known them for years or like you're dining in their home.
If you're ever in St. Moritz craving a beautiful glass of wine and delicious pasta dish, or some smaller dishes to enjoy, I cannot recommend La...

You have to plan well in advance to get a seat in this magical place.
Small and charming, fresh and authentic cuisine awaits us here, no Nuggets or the like to be expected. The menu is small which for me is always a guarantee of great quality.
The menu is small, which for me is always a guarantee of high quality, and every day you can find a vegetarian or meat version of the pasta of the day.
For the starter I went for the classic Bruschetta, but also a Romanesco. An explosion of flavour in the mouth! What a pleasure to be able to eat this. For the main course I was inspired by the pasta of the day Tagliatelle with Zucchini sauce. Another dish full of flavour and calling for another serving.
Impossible to leave the dessert in this case and order the homemade tiramisu, with a simple and not smooth presentation that makes the taste buds go wild. Another success.
My favourite restaurant in St Moritz, with a very friendly and pleasant team and service. I highly recommend it to anyone who appreciates food. For those who are looking for more options for children's menus or other options, it is best to pass. Congratulations for...
