Chocolaterie am Klosterplatz — Restaurant in St. Gallen

Incredibly rude staff. The German bald guy with a beard, in his 40's, barely recognised us coming there, we were just going to grab some coffee and maybe some ice cream. It was middle of the day, scorching sunshine, so we moved the table into the shade. Instead of politely ask us to move it back, he yelled at us. Fair enough we thought. So we switched to another table. He ignored us until we felt that maybe we should leave. He yelled at us for not pushing the chairs in and was incredibly rude and complained about us to other customers. We barely even spoke to him and he managed to yell at us twice. Sunday 27th october, 2pm, very sunny. Extremely busy and not good customer service.

Very busy so the staff looked very overwhelmed with dishes pilling up behind the counter and them rushing around with their orders. They took 2 other people's orders before mine. Were very slow to serve drink or brought the bills. Several tables had to get up and go to the counter due to the lack of service. One staff member at the counter only spoke german (no english or french) which is really surprising in the most touristy place of the town. Chocolate truffes schnitte cake was very good. Absolut nicht zu empfehlen! Wir haben uns in dieses Café gesetzt und ein Glace bestellt. Nachdem wir aufgefordert wurden selbst zu schauen welche Sorten Eis zur Verfügung stehen. Haben wir unser Glace-Wunsch der Bedienung mitgeteilt und uns wieder gesetzt. Unser Glace kam und nachdem wir die hälfte verschlungen hatten wurden wir arrogant dazu aufgefordert etwas zu Trinken zu bestellen oder das Café zu verlassen. Anscheinend sind Glacé Kunden keine richtigen Kunden und dürfen sich nicht setzten. Es muss noch etwas zusätzliches bestellt werden damit man sitzen darf. Wir waren zu diesem Zeitpunkt etwa 5-10min am Essen. Was für ein absurder, arroganter und absolut frecher Kommentar von der Bedienung.

Nachdem wir darauf hin ohne Diskussion je ein Getränk bestellt haben wurde uns prompt auch noch beiden das falsche Getränk hingestellt. Aber nicht nur uns die zwei Tische neben uns wurden ebenfalls falsch bedient. Aber das war eigentlich auch zu erwarten, denn anstelle eines Notizblockes (der anscheinend dringend nötig ist) hielt die bedienende Person selbst ein Glace in der Hand und nahm während dem Essen Bestellungen auf.

Fazit: absolut freches, arrogantes, unprofessionelles und dazu noch unkonzentriertes Personal überteuert für die Qualität der Produkte (z.B. 3 dl. Leitungswasser für 3.50.-??? Dafür sollte man S.Pellegrino erwarten wie bei der Konkurrenz geboten.)
