For the location I would give 5 stars, because they have tables on the bridge and you have an unobstructed view of the opposite wooden bridge with the standing wave where the surfers play.
Service was also fast and friendly. However, the food and drinks were terrible - actually the worst we had on our two weeks trip through Switzerland-, comparable to fast food, or pre-packaged food heated up in the microwave. I had an hot dog, which consisted of a canned wiener sausage, pre-made fried onions and a little bit of sauerkraut, but no mustard/ ketchup, relish etc., and the bun was too hard, as if left too long in the oven. Our drinks were advertised as 'home-made lemonades', but turned out to be nothing more than artificially flavoured sirup mixed with soda water and decorated with some lime wedges. I guess home-made for them means that they mix the two liquids on their own premises. They should visit Hungary to get a taste of real home-made...
Read moreThis was the craziest experience I’ve ever had in a restaurant. My study abroad group decided to come here for lunch and we had multiple issues. My hotdog came out cold in the middle, one of us had a huge piece of plastic in her salad, and another got a completely wrong order but ended up keeping it to not cause more issues. The salad and cold hot dog were sent back. We did not finish all of our food, and a waitress came over and scolded us loudly in front of the whole place, asking us “Are Americans always this rude?” And “ You should behave better than this.” Most of us work in the service industry, and hesitated asking for new plates but did because of how expensive meals are here. If you are American and want to be respected and have good service, do...
Read moreDo not order the water!!! Had to start with that because the waitress came over and asked if we wanted water and all 8 of us said yes. Out she comes with a glass for each with a small bottle of water. Found out later we just spent $40 for water (francs but basically one to one for dollars). That is how they make their money. Water usually costs something in Switzerland but that was a total ripoff. Sandwiches were actually good and the food prices fairly cheap ($5 - $8 for sandwiches that are ready made) so skip the water (bring a water bottle everywhere you go if smart) and save a lot of money. Friendly staff, great view along river and of town. Would get 4 stars if not for...
