La Panetteria — Restaurant in Winterthur

one of the best startes/entre i ever had for a ling time

main course was a bit disappointing or it wasbt that good enough

few menu choices is OK rather it is charming

however costumer service was a bit weird, i just cant explain, the staff approached i was asking for a menu and she said they dont have. however she shoudl provide some options as i am guests and i dont memorized their menu and then it was written on the wall but it was like written by a doctor or all in signatures?? i cant read

but i managed to sort that out afterwards

then the other staff try to check if the service is good or bad. she doesnt speak english at all and keep speaking

then when i was on my phone she came back and tapped my shoulder and said something.. i dont like to be touchy with an elderly woman and i just find it weird

i dont want to be negative..

Although the food is relatively good I had a very bad experience with the owner. She kept making really unfortunate commentaries about my origin all lunch long. We did not left because we already ordered the drinks.

The owner asked me which was my language and after answering that it is Catalan she started insisting that I should be speaking Spanish since I am Spaniard. After that, she continued making disgusting commentaries about me being a Catalan.

I really was not expecting having such an experience outside Spain. But of course the owner is an Spaniard.

The food here is absolutely fantastic. Fresh-tasting ingredients and super delicious meals. The menu is limited but everything on offer is so delicious you will definitely be back for more of the same. I love the hummus - it's even better than my own home-made and that's really saying something ;-). The fennel and orange salad is amazing, as is the goat's cheese salad and all of the bruschettas.
