Roxy Vinyl Cafe — Restaurant in Winterthur

I have been here more times than I can count, and I can proudly state it is without a doubt one of my favourite bars / cafes in winterthur by a long shot. Something about the atmosphere of this place has a very special place in my heart. It is very welcoming. You can have banter with the staff, there's a nice buzz, the lighting is lovely and the seats are plush. What is there not to love?

Don't even get me started on the drinks. They have a large range of beverages that range from a classic espresso to a fancy cocktail. I usually find myself asking for the iced coffee late or homemade lemonade and which I might add - is superb. No matter what you're looking for, I promise you, you will be quenched of your thirst.

What makes this cafe unique (and I wish more places were like this) is its vinyl collection. I'm a sucker for vinyls, and I must say the owner has some fantastic taste in music. So make sure to find some time to browse the vinyls.

What a delightful surprise! While wandering through Winterthur looking for a good cup of coffee, we stumbled upon Roxy Vinyl Cafe, and it turned out to be the best we have had in EU so far.

The café has an eclectic and cool atmosphere that immediately draws you in. There’s something authentically local and unpretentious about the space that makes you want to settle in and stay awhile. The ambiance perfectly balances relaxed comfort with artistic flair.

The coffee is where Roxy Vinyl shines. The coffee is exceptional – genuinely the best we’ve experienced throughout our entire European trip. Whether it’s their brewing technique, bean selection, or just the care they put into each cup, they’ve absolutely nailed it. If you’re a coffee enthusiast, this place is a must-visit.

Service is friendly without being over-the-top – exactly what you want in a neighborhood...

Essen / Getränk:

Der Kaffee war sehr gut, verdient nicht weniger wie 5* 🙏😊 das Essen kann ich nicht beurteilen, da ich nichts gegessen habe deshalb 4* total fürs Essen.

Ambiente:

Ist alternativ,interessant und anders. Mir persönlich hats gefallen, aber ist normalerweise nicht mein Geschmack. Aber es ist schön gemacht 😊 deshalb auch 4*.

Service:

Es tut mir leid, aber das kriegt von mir am wenigsten Punkte. Ich erwarte eine gewisse zuvorkommende Art im Service (muss nicht übertrieben sein, einfach so wie es zum Laden passt), aber ich habe mich direkt unwohl gefühlt. Beim 1. Besuch: hat die Kellnerin mich schon fast "verfolgt" weil ich kurz noch anderswo hingesessen bin (wegen der Sonne). Sie hat mich irgendwie immer im Blick behalten und ich habe das gespürt. Das empfand ich irgendwie unangenehm und konnte mich nicht wirklich entspannen. Sie hätte mir vorher einfach die Rechnnung bringen sollen,statt irgendwie so eine merkwürdige Art zu demonstrieren. Beim 2. Besuch, dachte ich ok ich probiere es nochmals weil der Kaffee ist wirklich gut. Ich war um 11.45 Uhr vor dem Laden, das Schild war draussen und alles offen und es stand auf dem Schild "offen" deshalb dachte ich, es ist geöffnet. Aber es war tatsächlich erst um 12.00 Uhr geöffnet (das habe ich dann später gesehen). Auf jeden Fall hat der Kellner sofort gemeint, wir öffnen erst um 12.00 Uhr. Ja, wieso habt ihr dann ein Schild draussen? Ich habe mich direkt wieder unwohl gefühlt. Man könnte das irgendwie freundlicher formulieren und auch solche Fehlinterpretationen durch gute Kommunikation vermeiden. Er war nicht unfreundlich aber zuvorkommend und freundlich oder irgendwie entgegenkommend auch nicht. Ja so fühlt man sich leider nicht willkommen. Da kann man schon noch etwas zur Verbesserung im Service tun.

Fazit: schön gemacht, aber Service verbesserungswürdig. Ich komme daher nicht mehr, ich muss mich egal in welchem Kaffee auch wohlfühlen können. Kann ich bei euch nicht, deshalb danke für den guten...
