It’s popular and downtown, so you’re definitely paying up for it, but it’s good for a nice night of fondue! The food was all absolutely delicious and very fast despite being packed on a Sunday night. We only waited around 10-15min for a table of two people, but you should definitely get a reservation. Our service was absolutely fantastic (Adriana! 💕) and she always had a smile on her face even though everyone was running around with how busy it was. I think that often times folks from certain countries can forget that expecting your server to check in on you every 10 minutes (without making eye contact to indicate you need something) and for your food to come out within a few minutes of ordering it isn’t standard in other places :) For food, we had the Vaudois fondue with steamed veggies, the winter special of veal in a mushroom sauce, and then chocolate fondue for dessert, as well as some beers on tap. While everything was delicious, I think I would just recommend going for drinks and fondue (as some local businessmen seemed to be doing next to us) since it’s quite pricy, but admittedly the veal was absolutely amazing and worth it if you’re looking for a heartier meal - honestly, anything on the seasonal menu would probably be a great choice! The chocolate fondue was tasty, but most of the (seasonal) fruits available weren’t our favorite pairing with it - perhaps it would be better in the summer with some strawberries! For folks who are a bit noise-sensitive, we did find it to be awfully loud (solid wood walls and flooring), but we just drank beer and got ourselves in the spirit of things. If that’s not your thing, maybe try going earlier in the evening or late afternoon and it should be much quieter!

Title: A Truly Divine Fondue Experience! Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I recently had the pleasure of dining at Swiss Chuchi a gem that offers an exceptional cheese fondue. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy ambiance that set the stage for an unforgettable evening. The menu at Swiss Chuchi is a fondue lover's dream come true. With a wide variety of cheese and meat, options, there is something to satisfy every palate. The knowledgeable and friendly staff guided us through the menu, ensuring we made the perfect choices for our meal. The cheese fondue was a true masterpiece. The blend of cheeses was perfectly balanced, resulting in a creamy and flavorful dip that paired beautifully with the assortment of bread, vegetables, and fruits. Each bite was a delight, and we couldn't help but indulge in seconds. Aside from the exceptional food, the service at Swiss Chuchi was impeccable. Karol the waiter was attentive, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. They were always ready to answer any questions and provide recommendations, making us feel like valued guests throughout the evening. The ambiance of the restaurant was cozy and intimate, with dim lighting and comfortable seating. The attention to detail in the decor created a warm and inviting atmosphere, perfect for a romantic date night or a gathering with friends and family. In conclusion, Swiss Chuchi is a true gem in the world of fondue dining. The exceptional food, outstanding service, and inviting ambiance make it a must-visit for any fondue enthusiast. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a memorable and indulgent dining experience.

Summary: 9.5 CHF for a 750ml bottle of water destroys any positive experience from this restaurant (see evidence in attached photo). It also caused me to reflect on Swiss cuisine as a whole (see below). Details: Having spare time in Zurich, I sought out traditional Swiss cuisine. I was excited to discover and try real Swiss food in a major Swiss city. We ordered Rosti and the fondue recommended by the waiter. The rosti was made with decent quality Swiss cheese and average quality condiments. It was basically a premium loaded mac and cheese, and it tasted decently well. Not great, but decent. I do not understand why potatoes were included on this dish. The fondue was quite good; while, fondue is not very hard to replicate (toast garlic, boil wine, melt cheese, maintain heat), it is worth trying for the experience. Upon reviewing the check, I noticed the “Swiss” 750ml bottle of still water (offered right when we sat down) cost an astounding 9.5 CHF! Yes, 9.5 CHF for ONE bottle of water. This caused me to reflect ontologically on Swiss ”cuisine”, and more specifically, the food in Switzerland, to which I arrived at the following conclusions: 1) Switzerland’s food is a disappointment to Europe. Switzerland neighbors have produced some of the best cuisines in the world. You would think the Swiss (specifically the city of Zürich), would have learned how to make a dish taste good by now. Most cuisines are influenced by their surroundings, but Swiss cuisine (consistent with their political stature in Europe) appears minimally influenced. Swiss cheeses are chocolates are phenomenal creations, but unfortunately the few meals we ate in the country were expensive and lacking excitement. 2) HDI and GDP per capital do not guarantee a worthwhile cuisine. Per point 1, Switzerland has no excuse not to have phenomenal food (other Swiss restaurants we tried were letdowns). Perhaps they are working too many hours to make food taste good? Zürich residents would do well to visit Italy or France with no work laptop/access for a week. 3) 9.5 CHF for a bottle of water is completely and utterly unacceptable. Dollar for dollar, Food in Zürich is to be rejected.

It was interesting to experience traditional Swiss cuisine food, the cheese fondue. However, we were utterly disappointed with the restaurant’s service as we felt discriminated against. We did not read any reviews about the restaurant and just decided to go for it as we saw a long queue (so we thought it’s probably going to be good). As we were queuing, one of the female staff (voluminous and curly hair) was going down the line to ask for the number of pax. We were the last one in queue (and the ONLY asians). She completely ignored us after asking the lady in front of us the number of pax. We gave her the benefit of doubt, thinking that she might be busy with other stuff hence we were briefly put on hold. However the second time she went down the line, asking if anyone was keen for a table of two with outside seatings, she completely ignored us. Clearly, we were a pax of 2 being the ONLY asians in queue. She completely ignore the fact that we are a customer of the restaurant. Additionally, if only she had initially asked us about the number of pax and our seating preference, she would have known that the seats would be suitable for us. When we were finally seated, we were served by an Indian waiter. He provided an excellent service, was quick and efficient. More importantly, he did not discriminate against any customer (as we observed). As for the rest of the staff, we were not able to comment much on their service because they did not approach us. After the experience, we went back and checked out other reviews. We noted that some customers also commented on Asian discrimination. These reviews were posted a few months back and this issue still persists. I hope that this review will create awareness on any form of racial discrimination and highlight the importance of equality (regardless of race or ethnicity). All customers are entitled to the same experience and this does not reflect well on the people of the country.
