came here because i wanted to try the iconic Zürcher Geschnetzeltes. however most places make it with veal, so i finally found this place that made it with pork :) food was heavy but it was pretty good with reasonable prices compare to other locations ***IMPORTANT NOTE! i shouldve known better since im from new york, but, like any touristy place, they'll ask if you want still water (and not mention that theres free tap water). i completely forgot to say tap water and responded 'yes' to the question (so partly my fault, but i do think the system sets you up for failure). anyways, it costs 4.50 franks for still water. so if you wanted water (especially in switzerland, where drinking tap water is the norm), just make sure you state "TAP WATER!'

We went there around 7.30pm there are a lot of people dinning already and we ask the waiter for a table and he told us to sit at table for 2 person that is not even cleaned up yet and he grabbed a chair from the table next to it and throw it in front of the table I don’t know was he angry or something, but we have 3 person so we asked him for a bigger table and he told us to go to another restaurant, so we asked him again for a table and he take us in to the inside of the restaurant and set us in the corner, then he just left us sitting in the corner for 30minutes at least there are no menu on the table and he didn’t bring it to us as well. We thought maybe he is busy to serving the dished to other table but he wasn’t, we tried at least 5 times to ask the menu from him and wave at him to attract his attention so he can bring us the menu but HE SAW US AND HEARD US EVERY SINGLE TIME, he just ignored us! Then he brings the menu to two people that came in to the restaurant after us and he took the order from them he just skipped and ignored us!Then a lady waiter saw us and brings us the menu and told us the bald waiter that bring us in here should take care of us and take the order for us, also she took the order from us. The food is delicious and it served to us very fast. Also the old bald waiter ignored other people as well not only us other customers try to communicate with him but he just walked away. So if you wanna eat here be aware of the old bald waiter.

This place was near my hotel and decided to try since it wasnt crowded around 3pm(i had a late lunch after arriving from Interlaken). The manager was friendly and spoke to me in English. I am also thankful he made sure I had a vaccination certificate before dinning in. Thats a big plus point for safety during this pandemic. The rosti I ordered was so tasted very nice and warmed my soul. The portion filled me up real well. I dont really drink beer and I asked for tap water and was surprised it was free (another great thing about this place). They have lots of great food as I was looking at what other guests have ordered. Pricewise, it is affordable in Swiss standards. You cant go wrong with this place. Highly recommended!

My family and I came here for dinner on a Saturday evening and it was pretty busy! It took maybe 10-15 minutes for us to get seated inside. This was our first night in Switzerland so we wanted to try some traditional Swiss food. The food was very delicious! I had the bratwurst with rosti, which was yummy, but my favorite was the cheese-spatzli with pork steak, bacon and gravy. The atmosphere was lively, as expected from a pub. Our server was friendly and nice but he was quite busy so it was a little difficult to get his attention when we needed something. They could definitely use more servers. Overall, we had a pleasant dining experience here and would recommend this place if you want to have traditional Swiss food :)

As a solo traveler, I was curious to try traditional Swiss food. I was apprehensive to walk in at the start since this restaurant has a "beer hall" vibe - good for big families or group of friends. However as I walked in, I was greeted by friendly staff and was well looked after. I ordered a traditional Swiss dish (which I searched via Google)and asked a staff if they had something similar. The staff recommended the dish shown on this review (Cheese Spatzli with pork steak, ham, bacon and gravy) . Whilst I was not blown away by the taste of the food, I felt great I had a taste of a bit of Swiss food, without paying too much (although prices are generally high in Switzerland compared to other countries)

More people should know about this place! It is less than 10 mins away from the central station, it is a traditional and relaxed atmosphere in contrast with other more uptight places in Zurich. And it is home to the amazing and tasty Jumbo Jumbo cordon blu (the name lives up to the legend!) which is best shared by two people and costs around 33 francs with a lot of fries and a salad included. Thus at 16 ish francs pp, this meal is by far the absolute best value i have found in Switzerland. I am now a loyal convert to the Jumbo Jumbo gods 🙌 keep in mind that the tables are big and shared by multiple parties so your personal space may be reduced unless you come at less popular dining times.
