Food and drinks were decent but service was the worst I’ve experienced in Switzerland and discriminatory. We waited at the entrance to be seated but were ignored by server Theesan not once but 3 times. Ended up finding our own seats, politely told the same server we are ready to order but got ignored twice (while making direct eye contact with him). We finally got our order placed after everyone’s else’s orders were taken (despite the fact that they were seated after us). Same situation for when we asked for some water and for the bill. Being the only East Asian customers in the cafe at the time, we felt that we were being discriminated against considering the different treatment compared to other majority of white customers (being dismissed and ignored multiple times, extra wait time, rude tone from the server). Before we left we raised the issue with the server in the white shirt in the picture attached below, he was extremely dismissive and kept repeating happy new year while making a shoo away hand gesture at us. Overall terrible experience even though the food was okay, would not recommend if you are East Asian as they are not particularly welcoming with people who...
Read moreI came here because it was one of the few places open. I opened the menu and what the heck?
Luckily, they have an English menu. $20 for a slice of quiche? Are you kidding me?
Further in the breakfast section I found "cooked eggs." They are $3.50. However, fried eggs are $6.50. What's so difficult about frying them that it costs $3 more? Are the "cooked eggs" leftovers from the previous day? "Cooked" meaning already made?
So I ordered fried eggs with bacon for $9.90. I added the $1.90 croissant "piece." Not sure what piece vs portion adds up to in their heads.
The server brought me a basket of a croissant and three slices of some kind of wheat/sesame bread. I sat in anticipation the entire time hoping he would not be charging me more than the menu stated.
Not to mention he didn't bring me a small plate so I was getting croissant flakes all over the table. Not a good start.
The food came out hot and looked great. The eggs were delicious, but the bacon was salty. He did not overcharge me for the bread, but he did overcharge me for the water. It was $5.40 for a damn bottle of water. What the heck! If I knew that I would have not asked for water.
Please don't...
Read moreThe biggest problem with this place is the service. Several times we have come here and some of the servers don't come by and even when waving, they just keep their eyes down and don't look up to see if anyone needs anything. One time we sat down and two tables who seated after us had their orders taken and were served, even before our table was even cleared.
We also don't understand why they don't have adequate staff. Early summer with nice weather and it's like they are shocked that the tables are full and they don't have the staff to handle them. I mean, common sense should tell you that on a weekend when the weather is good, it will be crowded.
The reason for not giving one star for service is that once finally served, the personnel are friendly and do try. They really just need to open their eyes! There is a young blond lady that is friendly and attentive, so congratulations to go to her.
Management, please staff accordingly and teach your servers to keep their eyes...
