Löweneck — Restaurant in Zurich

Very pleasantly surprised by the degustation menu with a rich variety of small plates to be shared, served over 5 courses. Everything looked fresh, was very well prepared and presented, with great taste and texture. The dessert was the less impressive part but the rest was really great. Superbe wine list at "reasonable" prices (for Zürich at least...). Good service while a little cold and impersonal, but perhaps because we don't speak (Swiss)German?. Really an excellent evening and we'll come back.

This place used to be my go-to for tapas, but the recent changes to the menu and concept feel a bit confusing. While I appreciate the effort to try something new, it seems the direction isn’t resonating with guests, as the restaurant was fairly empty during my visit. A can't figure why this place is so popular. The food is less than mediocre. While the dishes on the menu sound like Spanish tapas, it clearly shows that the chef's have never actually eaten Spanish tapas, or possibly even cooked, before. Sorely lacking in flavour and ranging from under to over cooked, it's the worst food I've had in Zurich. At least the service is...
