Really good and authentic place! but with a super nice twist. I've been living in Mexico for 2 years, been to every part of it.. and I believe I know real Mexican flavors, and not texmex. We came mostly for drinks, but I had to try the birria croquettes, they were SO good. The lamb tasted exactly like classic birria in Mexico, and the combination of the crunch was fire! Especially with the avocado dish on the side of it to keep the slight hot kick more balanced. The food gets 10/10, so does the service. But man, the real winners were the unbelievably perfectly balanced cocktails! Non of us are cocktail people, and we were hooked after trying the first one. Staff are very friendly. Before we ordered drinks, they brought still water and nachos. The drinks menu is plentyful and varied. I'm sure everyone could find a drink to their liking. Their signature cocktails are split in 4 groups: on the rocks, sparkling, shorts & sour, non-alcoholic.
We ordered: • Persici Negroni • Voluptas
Both were to our liking, quite complex in flavours and yet easy to drink and enjoy.
After we paid our bill, we were offered to shots of another of their signature cocktails which was a very nice touch.
Overall, highly recommend "La Catedral". The environment is beautiful, the staff are all friendly and helpful and the variety in cocktails and drinks will probably please...
Read moreThe hottest Mexican in town? Most certainly! Starting off with the design of the menu, very rarely do you see a menu with such intricacies and symbolism - truly stunning. The cocktail selection is vast and very authentically representing Mexican spirits. The focus of the restaurant is their drink options; however, the small-plate food options are absolutely delicious - especially their version of a tartare. The culinary highlight for us was the dessert. The menu currently only holds one dessert but it was truly phenomenal with the star being the shaved chocolate over the ice cream! The waiter (German with a tribal arm tattoo) was super friendly and attentive and we loved his service throughout the whole evening! We will be back and...
