We ate there today around 20.00 and now my friend is having food poisoning from their sashimi fish. We were a group of four and we could not wait to try their menu as we heard amazing reviews. We all travel a lot and my Israeli boyfriend has years of Middle East food experiences.
At first, the place is beautiful. This is the only positive thing about the restaurant. Ourr waiter was rude, he did not really pay attention to our order (four Balagan, very simple order). He forgot part of our drinks. Then we ordered six more pieces of falafel as they gave us only one each person - it seemed a bit funny. He brought us 5 then got irritated when we kindly asked him to bring another one. He also tried to take our food mid-consuming which was very disturbing and not polite at all. Then our second course came - the kufte was raw! It smelled as raw meat and it was so unappetizing, so we kindly asked our waiter to take it back. Then he served us burned kufte which was hard as a golf ball. We sent it back as it was smelling intense, even though they covered it with a lot of extras on top. He tasted it, unfortunately now he has stomach issues and food poisoning. The fish smelled from 10-15 cm so the chef must have known it is not suitable for consuming! About the rest of the food: the Labneh was not real Labneh, the eggplant was not well prepared and cooked, sweet potato did not taste good. The steak was so-so, also the rest of the main course. It was really disappointing.
After the fish issue we asked for the manager as our waiter was not willing to listen to us at all. She was kind and understanding, she tried to help us but it cannot make up for the horrible food and service experience. We got our desserts: I personally enjoyed some bites of the chocolate cake, the cheesecake was okay, the other two desserts was not tasty.
I would never go back there because of the food poisoning and...
Read moreComing from Austria, I was lucky enough to have known and eaten at Neni's original in Vienna a couple of times before, so I was used to the great flavours and simple deliciousness of Neni's dishes already. Nonetheless, I was stunned by the sheer freshness and lightness of the Matbucha and perfectly grilled Fish, I didn't really trust the pickled lemons and chili at first because I wrongly expected something very sweet to make up the sourness but honestly I bought the new Neni cookbook to recook that recipe because wow wow wow you feel like sitting in Tel Aviv again😲 so delicious I couldn't even eat in silence anymore, I made some "mmmh" sounds along the evening I am afraid. And the Knafeh with Orange liqueur, pistachios and ice cream was the perfect dessert, I couldn't finish all of it unfortunately because the portions are quite generous and it was not an easy decision to leave some of that goodness behind. On that note I am glad I didn't order a starter as well, but that is a bit of a lie now because I really really really would have wanted to taste more of that awesome food 😍 There are good Israeli wines🍷 🇮🇱 to choose from and the service truly is impeccable, the staff are elevating the whole dining experience to a whole new level. The waiters are smart and competent and can honestly lead you to take the right food choices depending on what you want. Everything is fast, homemade and simply delicious 😋 I am glad that the 25hours hotel group approached Haya Molcho and Neni's is now the standard restaurant accompanying the hotels around the globe 🌎 you really deserve that 💗 And for us hotel guests it means we can order great Neni Shakshuka for breakfast 🍳win-win!🍳 yaay 🥳 Please keep up that awesome level 💪 P.s.: prices are adjusted to Swiss and especially Zurich price levels but fair for...
Read moreThe interior of the restaurant is really nice and the location is great however, we were really disappointed that on a Monday we had a time limit to eat here, they literally kick you off the table once you hit a certain time although we were 4 people who ate and drank. This really left a sour taste in our mouth since we spent good money at the restaurant and were continuing to spend more for drinks. In addition they charge you CHF 5,- for table water, that's just a cheap move -- it just seems like they are more concerned about ways to make money than providing great food and experience for clients. 2 of us come from the hospitality industry it's just never a good idea putting a time limit on tables during the week, weekends is a different case. I have to say 2 out of the 4 people already decided to never come back here and it has been a topic of disbelief during a few conversations. Word of mouth and reputation is important. I felt sorry for the team, they seemed uncomfortable with asking us to leave too. Food I would give a 3.5 / 5, so it was enjoyable but it’s more about the whole package than just the food for me. In addition, I don’t think it’s ever a good image when the GM only responses to positive reviews online and ignores the negative ones. We would like to feel heard too especially since we were disappointed. It just gives the impression that they don’t care about what clients really feel unless it’s...
