I‘ve been visiting the café basically every week since my arrival in Zürich. It has amazing coffee, the place is architecturally gorgeous, it‘s very inclusive, pet friendly… Almost a dream. The music is a vibe, mostly indie rock. The location is stunning, next to the river which makes it quite busy on sunny weekends. However today I‘ve had one of the worst customer experiences ever with their staff. I‘m guessing the manager (in a white shirt) asked us to remove our laptops as they have a no laptop policy (apparently on Sundays after 12 pm) which we were not aware of. I removed my tablet right away and the manager gloatingly said something along the lines of: „Yes, like that.“ My partner was however finishing up a few lines of code (for another couple of minutes) and when the manager was walking back he deliberately bumped my partner‘s laptop in a motion as if to close it shut with his hand. I found that incredibly rude. We didn‘t say anything and left the café right away. Just wanted to warn anyone wanting to study or work there, they are apparently not laptop and tablet friendly on Sundays after 12. I saw two other girls sitting in there and he also made them turn off their laptops. The funniest thing was the café was not even fully occupied. This is not my first rude or inappropriate experience with this manager/waiter here, but hopefully it will be the last. I‘m saddened to see such a great place ruined by the demeanor...

To be honest, I have visited many different coffee places around Zürich and other Swiss cities, but the Nude coffee/bar baffles me every time I set foot in it. The staff is very forthcoming and professional and never misses the opportunity to share a friendly smile!
In general, there is nothing I can criticize!
The Nude coffee/Bar is even vegan-friendly (as my wife is lactose intolerant and a bit fussy when it comes to coffee🙄), with various milk alternatives available.
The Nude coffee/Bar is, for me up till now, hands down the best place to take a break from the hectic, fast-paced city life! I strongly recommend it; even if it's only just for a quick bite or a cheeky cocktail 🍹 between two meetings or a swimming session in summer, it feels like paradise!🌞
Ps: It's even dog-friendly! They gladly served my companion some water the last time I was there.
By companion, I mean my Dog, 🐶of course, and...
Read moreThe location is truly lovely. I usually don’t leave negative reviews, but what could have been a perfect experience for me and my girlfriend was spoiled by the attitude of one waitress. At the counter, she told us to sit down before ordering in a harsh, condescending tone - not the message itself, but the way it was said and her body language made it feel like we were being scolded, didn’t pay attention to us until we kindly called her, and then dropped the plate on the table with clear indifference and walked off.
Even if table service is the policy, it’s all about how you say it. A simple “Please find a seat, I’ll come take your order” or “Sure, I’ll bring it to your table” would’ve made all the difference. To be fair, the other staff member who brought us the bill was very kind and made an effort to make us feel welcome. It’s just a shame that first impression...
