Rheinfelder was probably the best meal that I had during my entire stay in Switzerland. My boyfriend and I came in on a Sunday night at around 6ish, and the place was pretty empty.
I first came across this place when I saw reviews for these giant chicken cordon bleus. And at 24.50 Fr, it's a pretty good deal. It could easily serve two people, especially since it comes with a side of fries. The super thinly-pounded chicken comes out piping hot and perfectly fried. It's amazing how they can even fit cheese and ham in there, but they do. Once you cut into it, ooey gooey cheese comes spilling out. It's definitely not something you can eat everyday but it's definitely worth the calories. My boyfriend had the bratwurst with rosti. The bratwurst was great, but the rosti was just okay (definitely not as good as the one we had over at Zeughauskeller). The beer is great too, and was the perfect way to wash down all that food. We had some leftover chicken, which we ended up eating cold later on, and even that was still good. Probably the best chicken cordon bleu I've ever...
Read moreYes!! Definitely recommend! Decent and numerous food options that are reasonably priced. We were a little shell-shocked by how expensive food is in Zurich, but most meal options at this restaurant range from high teens to high twenties, whereas most restaurants in the area are between 30 and 40 (so it's really a great value for a good portion size). Nice outdoor seating with plenty of shade. I ordered the swiss mac and cheese with bacon, husband ordered the swiss meatloaf with egg and potato salad. We both came hungry after skipping lunch and ate every last drop of our meals. Ordered two beers each and our bill came out to under 65 francs. The waiter was friendly and thankfully spoke English well! Unfortunately it was our last day in Zurich, otherwise we definitely would have come back and tried...
Read moreIf you're looking for one of the best authentic Zurich dining experiences, this restaurant is a must-visit. Located in the heart of Zurich's old town, it offers a taste of tradition with exceptional Rösti, one of the city's iconic dishes. Although I usually can't eat much of potatoes, the Rösti here was outstanding—every bite was delicious, right down to the last piece.
The atmosphere is cozy and local, giving you a true Zurich vibe, but the service is highly international. The waitstaff speak English, and there’s even an English menu, making it easy for tourists to enjoy the experience without any hassle.
Given its popularity and limited seating, I highly recommend booking in advance. It’s a place you definitely don’t want to miss when in Zurich—an...
