We tried to have a lunch there on a Sunday, after a busy morning at the Kunsthaus. "We" means a group of three women and three little girls aged 6 till 7. All six of us are Russian, which perhaps means something in this context. At first, we were turned away as the waiter said, there are no free seats. My friend suggested moving three empty tables together, and after some derisive laughter and much anxious conferring, the waiters agreed. We were seated and the waiting began. We ordered relatively quickly, we had no special requests, all the items straight from the menue, three pizzas for the kids and soup and pasta for ourselves. At that stage, the kids were hungry. We waited for our food for 40 minutes. After a second request the waiter fobbed us off again, saying the food is on its way, it will get there when it is ready. My friend who was fairly exasperated, asked, on it's way where? The waiter turned, left and under his breath said, "to Moscow". The urge to just get up and leave was very strong, but the girls were very hungry by then. After that, maybe 10 minutes later, the pizza arrived, the kids were fed, I ate my pumpkin risotto, which managed to be watery and dry at the same time, strewn with undercooked pumpkin and bar any discernible flavour, we got up and left. This location is very convenient, and the interior lovely, but just not worth the...
Read moreThe food was excellent. My partner and I each ordered the spaghetti with clams and shared a bruschetta. They were fresh and delicious.
The service was very poor. I was very disappointed by how unprofessional the servers were. If you don’t dress or look the certain way, the servers will completely ignore you. We were in casual clothing and were treated in a very demeaning manner. We had to ask for bread several times before the server reluctantly gave it to us. Those in business suits received the utmost attention. Bread were served without them asking. We were shocked and disappointed to see how preferential treatments were given to restaurant patrons depending on appearance.
Once again, kudos to the kitchen staff who prepared excellent food. But if you weren’t in business clothing, I would recommend going somewhere else because nobody likes to be treated like a second class citizen when you’re also a...
Read moreMy partner and I have been there a few times already, sometimes they have truffle on the menu, which we like to get.
The food is usually very acceptable - for the price good though, the staff, in Paradeplatz was very rude once, since then we have not been there anymore, but in Teatro they usually are very kind and friendly.
We got the truffle-brocoli entrée with bread, it was actually really good. Unfortunately they did not have truffle noodles this time, they are a big recommendation!! We got some beef steak and salmone, it was all good, but our waitress, the “new” one with dark hair who is a little bit curvy was very charming and friendly. I would come back only to have her serve me again. Very friendly woman and excellent...
